SCHOOL SUCCKKKSSS!!!!!!!!

😎 You know, I used to think that, when I was still in school. I know you probably don't believe me, but once you get out, you'll wish you were still in. Believe it or not, you'll probably never have more freedom than you do right now. (Especially if you're a senior in high school...) So, as much as it sounds stupid to say it, enjoy school while you can! Once you're out, your whole life changes, and it can be a nasty shock.

(Skywa|ker steps down off his soap box... 😛 )

it doesn't change if you work in a college

One word: Algebra. It makes me break out in a cold sweat just thinking about it!

On the up side, once you're done with it, you'll likely never have to use it again! 😆

(At least, I never have... mind you, I'm not a rocket scientist either...)

😎

But Algebra is about problem solving using logic, without that you would not be able to do your job, I think Logical thinking is a must for you is it not?

i find that sleeping is quite a hard thing to do!, im an insomnic

Im finding staying awake at the moment very hard! 😂
*yawn*

I've got some.....oh wait already said that.

Living generaly is hard 😕 it takes a lot of work and effort to make it in life...

Yes, especially in my job... but I didn't need to take Algebra to learn logic. 😎 Mr. Spock taught me well! 😛

Yes I know I was talking to you.

Well, I gave up the dream, in a way, to do a job I don't really love so that I could make my family financially secure. That being said, I kept my passion... and now I can afford to indulge it a little more! I too am a drummer, and although I'm not the best drummer out there, (having to give up the time I would have used to learn to be a really great drummer) I do well enough that I'm now playing regularly in a band, and it's great! We do weekend gigs, some Friday nights, and we're starting to make some money now. And who knows, maybe someday it'll be steady enough that I can give up my day job. Until then, I still get to pursue my dream, just in a more limited way.

So, don't give up the dream. But don't be irresponsible, either. If you're going to support a wife and family, they come first. If you're single you have a lot more options open to you, as to where you're going to direct your life. Just one more word of advice; whichever way you go, make sure you have enough of a job to take care of your current financial responsibilities... don't let anyone 'carry' you... it's not easy, but you'll be a man. (Or woman, as the case may be... 😛 )

cool a fellow drummer😄 haha yeah it's a woman but not technically i'm like,what,16?😉 ha but ive gotta think abt whether i'm ready to give up stuff for the future rite?cuz i've been drumming since 7 n i reeaaalllllyyyyy dun wanna give up - i think u know what i mean😄

hey algebra is actually v easy compared to sum of the stuff we do here in s'pore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!honestly,u want a tough sch life, look here - we guys dun even HAVE lives outside sch!!! a regular day for us goes like this - wake up at 6 or 5 30am(depends where u live) reach sch b4 7,morning assembly, sch starts at 7 45am goes on til 3pm then extra curricular activities (and whoo boy some of them take up a WHOLE lot of time - like me for example i'm in the sch band, percussionist,so we hv practices 3 times a week - i pity my sch's national cadet corps tho at least WE band members are not in the hot sun - btw,i'm in a girls' sch n my sch's cadet cops is the best in 'spore cool huh!!who said girls cant be tough man!!!😄) and we finish at lik 6 30 pm then its stright home to slog thru that HUGE pile of hmwk due tmr and sleep at like 11pm and the next day its the same thing all over again.
the weekends are no different either.in fact,we hv extra lessons n band prac on sat and enrichment classes on sunday so we cant even sleep in.
and i've seen other countries' schwk compared to us u guys are soooo lucky i dun care i'm gonna migrate one day UGH i HATE it here!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I've been out of school for a few years now ( 😆 ), but my time in school was nowhere NEAR as busy as yours. My weekends were my own, and I wasn't in band, so I only had to worry about homework. I did have a fair bit of homework, but usually no more than an hour or two a night.

It's great that you've been drumming since you were 7! That would make you a much better drummer than I am already... (I only really got to start drumming when I was about 29... I'm 37 now, so I'm still pretty much a beginner. And being a family man, I can't practice nearly as much as I should...) It sounds like you have a great start in drumming, so I wouldn't worry too much about losing your dream!

ha me gd?nah...did u know i actually got turned away by a teacher when i went to him to ask if i cld get drumming lessons when i was 8?and do u know why? cuz i was a GIRL!!!!! &^*&%^@!(@#%^$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

so ive been learning it myself all my life - thank GOD i'm in my sch band....at least ive got SUMTH - but since it's a symphonic band, not much to be done there too - but DAMN the guys are soo good i'm lucky now i'm in a girls' sch the ONLY drummer there - but this is my last yr next yr i'll be in college there'll be guys n that's it - gdbye drums.

I think it's incredibly cool to see a female drummer... very few I've met over the years, but those I have known have been some of my favorite girls. Hey, did you know that Jennifer Elfman (Dharma, on 'Dharma and Greg'😉 is a drummer? Very cool! (And I think she is SO cute!)

Another celebrity drummer I really like is Dana Carvey. He is an excellent drummer! 😎

Me, I'm good at keeping a solid, steady beat, and I sing at the same time (Phil Collins is my hero!), so I guess I add value to the group. My rolls are okay, and I can do short fills, but I can't solo very well at all yet. (Still working on that... and still working on my rudiments...) 😉

aaahhh rudiments....can't stand them,cn't live w/o them...my roll's on its way tho - it SHLD be ive been at it for a yr now!!! i'm kinda fine with fill ins but i really need to listen to the song many many times to get a feel of it b4 responding with a fil...can't do freestyle fills, the kind with come in at the end of songs.nah-uh.
oh my gdness jennifer elfman?cool😄 ha yeah she IS cute😉ha i cant sing for NUTS if i tried the glass ard me wld shatter😉

haha i think we're like turnin this thread into a drums thing😉
