i do prefer the oldies austen and dickens, with maybe a dash of scott turow, umberto eco, and yeah jk rowling.

Stephen King. I did enjoy reading some of the classics when I was at school, but as I have gotten older I find myself reaching for a King more than anyone elses work.

J.R.R.Tolkien, Richard Adams, Neil Gaiman, Brian Ruckley, Ursula K. Le Guin, Frank Herbert, Harry Harrison. Great writers.

Who do I look for on the shelves-basically anyone.I look at the books more than the authors.I was a big Jo Rowling fan,but since Harry Potter's over ,I don't know whom to look for anymore. I like the oldies though 🙂 Austen,Dickens,Twain,Verne,Hugo etc. etc.
