Nathan Christopher Charles Dayspring Askani Summers is Cable. He was the son of Cyclops/Madelyne Pryor. He was sent into the future to save him from a techno-organic virus. In the future, he was taken care of by his half sister, Rachel Summers, who was an old woman then. He learned how to control the virus, and was brought up to be the rival of apocalypse. Jean and Scott were also sent into the future, where they raised Cable for 12 years before being sent back to the present.

Nate Summers (X-man) was the creation of Mr Sinister in AOA, and was made from the DNA of Scott and Jean in AOA. Unlike Cable, his powers are not restricted by having to concentrate on controlling the virus, so he is much more powerful than Cable. He entered the earth616 marvel universe when the Age of Apocalypse was ended.
