harry watched as the two were locked in a duel, it seemed to harry voldemort looked far stronger than on their previous meetings, but this didnt bother harry, dumbledore would win, voldemort could never defeat him, but it seemed to harry dumbledore was growing tired, slowing as much as he could without letting the curses from voldemort hit him. dumbledore at last knowing he could evade no longer, stopped running and shooting blind spells, here it was, harry could not believe it, the last showdown between dumbledore and voldemort, only one could walk away from this. voldemort also stopped, as if pondering what dumbledore was doing, " Dumbledore," hissed voldemort" at last we come to it, well i suppose we had better get down to the bows and the respectfu....AVEDA KEDAVEDA" voldemort had attempted to take dumbledore by suprise, the whole room filled with green light harry fell to the floor shielding his eyes, he heard a thud, no, it couldnt be..... The light faded and harry looked up his dread soon lightened for there was dumbledore, looking furious holding his wand up to help keep his shielding charm strong, "you can....not....win...this...vol..de..mort" said dumbledore panting, harry realised for the first time beads of perspiration running down dumbledores forehead, he quickly glanced at voldemort, his face was contorted in rage and agony, harry thought well at least he is having a hard time of it aswell, but then harrys spirits were crushed to the ground "dumbledore" said voldemort with NO effort whatsoever, voldemort wasnt even putting his full will into the spell and was still moments from winning "all the stories of your immence power are about to end" voldemorts face grimaced, and the beam from his wand grew larger, as did dumbledores eyes, The shielding charm from dumbledore was thinning, harry wondered what he could do, he had to help somehow, he took out his wand and with all his might shot and expelliramus spell at voldemort, the effect was small but effective, he had knocked voldemorts wand hand upwards breaking the beam, just in time as dumbledores shield shattered, he looked almost defeated, but then it seemed to harry that the light was rekindled in his eyes, “harry, throw me your wand” wheezed dumbledore, harry not thinking of anything apart from dumbledores safety threw his wand to him. Yet again voldemort used the killing curse, but this time dumbedore let loose one of his own. The two beams connected and made one long solid gold beam, harry remembered this as it happened two years ago during the tri-wizard touurnement, bedcause the two wands have the same core they do not work properly together, the two of them stood there, with their hands vibrating, harry waited for thwm to both lift into the air, but that moment never came, “so” hissed voldemort with distinct pride “I have finally defeated you dumbledore” “I wouldn’t be so confident if I were you” replied dumbledore “ for as long as I have my wand in my hand your spell cannot harm me, unfortunately this works the other way aswell, so I will have to ultimately defeat you voldemort” harrys spirits soared higher than any broomstick could ever reach, they did not stay there long, “ahhhh” said voldemort smugly “ as long as you have your wand in your hand, you are right I cannot harm you, but you don’t have your wand now do you dumbledore, you have harrys wand, the wand of another wizard never works as well as your own, such a small error, but a fatal one, goodbye albus” suddenly dumbleodres hand began to vibrate out of control, the golden beam grew a small green ball in the middle, which began to inch its way towards dumbledore, dumbledore let out gasps of exasperation as he tried with all his might to move that green ball the other way, but to no avail, it was little more than a few inches away from him when he opened his mouth and spoke “im sorry harry, I have failed you and the wizarding world, tell everyone I tried, and died honourably” dumbledore finally gave in, the green beam flew towards the wand in his hand, shattered it and dumbledore fell, motionless, lifeless to the floor, he landed with his head facing harry, those pale eyes, once bright and loving, staring blanky unseeing at harry, harry stared back, for what seemed like an eternity he was suddenly snapped back to reality by the cold voice of voldemort, “well then harry” he said smiling and rubbing his hands together “I have defeated dumbledore, one of the few to ever defy me, and one of the only two left alive who did so, the other is you, and here we are, me the most powerful wizard ever in grace the earth, and you, a weak pathetic scrawny boy, with no wand,”

I imagine that Dumbledore will suffer no worse a fate than death. The pathos of Sirius dying was diminished by the fact that in a world with Dementors, the best thing for anyone would have been to not have been born at all and the next best thing to die as soon as possible to be beyond the Dementors' reach.
