Well guys.... there was about 400 people at the wake (viewing) and I didn't stay long cuz I got sick...🙁
When I walked in I saw Moni in the hall with her fiancee (who I met for the first time tonight) and she gave me a big hug. She didn't let go though so I just hugged her till she was ready to let go. She hugged me for quite a while and cried. My other dearest friend Reesie was standing there and she was like..."Don't I get a hug too?" and me and Moni opened an arm and pulled her in for a big group hug. We all got teary eyed and emotional.
Then we went in the parlor and saw Mr. Kevin. He looked so different from the last time I saw him. For one he was clean shaved...that's a first. And second he'd lost alot of weight since I saw him last. He looked really good. They had pictures of him hunting and fishing and being Kevin all over the place. They had up family pictures and everything. The room was totally crowded. the whole funeral home was totally crowded actually.
I put my hand on Miss Patty's back and she turned and said, "Oh Kelly....Thank you so much for coming. I know he would have appreciated you being here for Monica and the family." and she gave me this big hug. She had been okay with the holding the tears at bay from what I saw, but when she hugged me she just broke down...like...really hard. I just held her and told her I loved her and that things would be okay...it would take time, but things would be okay.
She hugged me a long time too. I let her... she needed it I guess.
Then Reesie hugged her and it was a short hug and a thanks for being here like she had done to several people before me. Even Moni's little sister Danielle hugged me for a long time and didn't want to let me go.
I felt so special. I love them so much.
But that's pretty much how things went. After that I kept getting charlie horses in my toes from my crappy shoes and had to go up the street to Walmart to get some new shoes. (Bought a LOTR poster too.)
By the time me and Reesie got back to the funeral home I was totally sick. I must have eaten something bad on the way to Baton Rouge.
But yes...that's pretty much how my night went and I got home early enough to pop up here and tell you guys about it. Now I MUST go to bed. I'm falling asleep.
