never seen tcm(original) why do you like it so much backfire

so a horror movie is supposed to make you jump out of your seat? That's what I just read in Andes' first post on this page........

You are talking about slasher movies my friend........the movies where the killer jumps onto the screen real fast to make you jump.......that is the lowest denominator among scares.......those tactics are used only when the story itself isn't enough to scare......"hey, our movie isn't going to scare anybody so we need to put in a bunch of jump scares"

If a movie's plot is good.......it does not need to resort to such cheap tactics. How many jump scares are there in Psycho? How about The Shining? Exactly..........they didn't need them, they had plots. Same goes for TCM.

I've said it before, and will say it again, the plot in TCM is so bad that it could just as well be a porn

its a good plot, builds up the creepiness factor, keeps you guessing.

i dont intend to watch the remake- ive never been happy with remakes, especially or great films. (for example i wont watch the ring remake)

fool of a mook, all the remakes I've seen and almust everybody I've asked, say they are better, exept maybe psycho

Did you ever watch the piece of crap "Planet of the Apes" remake Tim Burton did a few years ago? He killed it........violently.

The Amityville Horror and Dawn of the Dead remakes that are coming out next year will also be inferior to their originals. There is no way to improve upon them.

That said........I am going to check out the TCM remake when it comes to dvd.........only because I've heard it isn't a remake at all. They don't even use the same story.........they also focus on Leatherface as a villain whereas in the original Leatheface was merely one of the villains of the film. I've heard it wasn't a remake at all.......they merely made a movie with a character called Leatherface and slapped the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" name on it. I liked TCM the Next Generation so who knows.......I might like this also, even though it isn't actually a remake/re-telling of the original story.

Andres........please inform us which remakes you've seen that were better. You've said that almost all were........please name some.

well too start with, TCM was muck better, The Thing, The Mummy, Night of the living dead, and I tought that Planet of the abes was also better, but Psycho only got worse

I can totally agree on the remakes of old horror movies like The Thing, THe Blob, The Mummy...............but the Night of the Living Dead remake being better? No way.............
