I find this disgusting, and a disgrace to Tolkiens work.

on the net there are all sorts of awful pics

chil porn pictures of death and all stuff in that genre so if ur gonna start a complaint thread, do it on them, where it is actually disgraceful illegal and sick, not some kid sat at home deciding to put some guys head on another guys body, no1 coplaijned when there was the sam and frodo one posted on the site, or when there were araghorn and eowen, this makes you all sound like homophobes

Sure, you are entitled to your opinions - and I respect that. But surely it said somewhere before you entered that site about the content. Surely there was a warning that you clearly did not heed?

I'm not a huge fan of slash: I don't write it but I don't mind reading the odd story. That doesn't make me a bad perosn and it certainly doesn't mean that I believe that Legolas and Haldir were gay - or Frodo/Sam, Merry/Pippin or what ever the pairing is for that matter. I KNOW that Tolkien was not implying even a TINY bit of homosexuality and, at the end of the day, I think that as long as I remember that, and take into account that (using Frodo and Sam as an example) the relationship that they had was beautiful and merely a friendship and I continue to respect Tolkien's works and admire his talents, I don't see how it could hurt... 😄

Additionally, I think that as long as the appropriate disclaimers are included, it doesn't really hurt anybody...unless of course, the Tolkien estate/New Line Cinema etc. have quite plainly stated that this sort of thing is unwanted...

I am just glad that I did not have too see that! I think its disrespectful and yes its only a picture but if you were an actor and you saw something like that about you I think i would be mad. Plus I think the people that actually have the sick minds to take the time to do things like that really are pathetic and sad.

To be perfectly honest, I get the impression that they'd laugh it off. I mean, I've read so many articles with Billy and Dominic and Elijah where they mention such things and laugh along with it. Must admit that I don't know about the others though...

Once again, I respect your opinions, but, think of it this way (and I am not getting at anybody in particular) it's not really that much weirder than having some fan devote their life to one single person - I mean, if we were to plaster our walls with pictures of a complete stranger who is unknown to the world and to declare that we are to marry them in the future, it is thought of as weird and obsessive....and yet, it's alright to go on and on and ON about how <<insert positive comment along the lines of 'hot' 'sexy' 'attractive' here>> a certain actor/singer/celebrity is.

Hmm, call me weird if you like (and yes, I too am a huge fan of particular actors and won't deny that I get a kick out of finding a new picture online 😄) but that could be thought of as just as disturbing....that, or these celebrities entering Middle-earth to save Frodo and his hobbity friends from a bunch of screaming fan girls - what ever you like I suppose. (See what I'm getting at Sauron? 😄)

Don't get me wrong, I understand that some of you find these sort of things (namely slash stories/images) offensive, but, may I ask what you were doing on a website such as that in the first place in order to catch a glimpse at these pictures?

I went to aol search and typed in "Haldir AIM Icons" and went in several, just went down the line it brought up, and it happend to be in one of them. I didn't intentionally find them. It wasn't like i was looking for them.

I wasn't implying that you were, just wondering how you came across them. THAT I do think is slightly wrong - was it actually graphic? (so to speak!) - if so, there should have been a warning or no preview image unless selected...if that makes any sense😄
