Yeah I did see the movie first, about 10 months ago. Then I decided not to watch it again until after I'd read the book, but yeah I can see what you're talking about, the movie is very true to the book so it makes it harder to enjoy at times.

well 10 months shouldnt be too too bad, i had seen it only a month or so earlier and i just kept seeing the scenes play out. ill read it again in a few years, by then it shouldnt be so bad.

I think it's a bit of a girls book(romantic overtones, female lead, female author), but meh, it's gory and vulgar enough for my tastes. And a good read at that.

as long as its a good book it shouldnt matter.

in the skin of a lion by michael ondaatje. i really like it so far. nuns falling off bridges, name dropping my hometown in the first chapter. all good things.

the plan is to read that then the english patient (also by ondaatje) then watch the movie.
