LeBeau soon returned to a company of X-Men searching for diaries of the late mutant seer, Destiny. Storm had procured a gem that was actually a part of a set that, once completed, would give its owner great power. The alien being called Shaitan was also attempt to gain the gems, throwing LeBeau, the X-Men, and Shaitan into conflict. LeBeau was kidnapped by Shaitan in order that his kinetic powers could o, but he was rescued by the X-Men and he joined their number once again.

(..and finally.)

Later, LeBeau was framed for the death of the Australian crimelord known as Viceroy by the evil industrialist Sebastian Shaw. With the assistance of Rogue and former Triad member Red Lotus, LeBeau was able to clear his name. About the same time, an extradimensional warlord named Khan was attempting to invade. LeBeau joined Rogue and a contingent of X-Men in trying to stop Khan. However, Khan captured LeBeau and used his powers to open a portal for his fellow aliens from Dimension X. At the end of the battle, the temple in which LeBeau was imprisoned was collapsing. LeBeau and Rogue were attacked by X-Men's enemy Vargas. As LeBeau lay near death, he was brought back to life by Rogue, using healing abilities she had previously absorbed. The experience left the powers of both Rogue and LeBeau spent, and together, the two parted company with the X-Men.
