anakins turn to the dark side...when?

several people have said that anakin might not turn until near the end of episode iii, and i half-remember lucas saying something to that effect. personally, i think it would make more sense to have him turn, or atleast leave a "cliff-hanger" at the end of AOTC where anyone who hadnt seen the later episodes would have to wait until episode iii to see if he decided to chose the light or dark side. but from the trailers, it seems like anakin might stay good until the end of this one. which i personally think would be a rip-off. if the turn doesnt happen until the end of episode iii, we arent going to be able to see anakin, "hunt down and destroy" the jedi, which is something ive been looking forward to see.

From what I've heared is that Anakin will turn in the middle of EpIII...
And besides, how will GL explain that in 1 year only 2 jedis survived?
I really really REALLY want to see Anakin fighting Mace!

There is simply not credible time in the story for him to turn in AOTC. It's stretching it enough for him to fall in 3 after only four hours time as an adult.

We will start to see signs of his turning, flashes Hayden Christensen descibed them as. But his actual fall will be during Episode-III, that is a given IMHO.

if anakin doesn't turn by the end of ep2, the lucas has got a lot to fit into ep3. Anakin turning, ob1 beating anakin, vader being suited, the jedi falling. i think anakin will fall at the end of ep2 and beat dooku and the last shot will be anakin talking to palpatine.

can you come up with a better idea for anakin turning, bearing in mind theirs one film left.

But in any case, it doesn[t matter if I can come up with something better; what you say is at variance with facts likely to be true about the film. Dooku is almost certainly in III and Anakin still good at the end of it.

We damn well better see the death's of the Jedi, and Anakin in the black suit.

Too many Jedi. It is not unlikely that they are wiped out between III and IV.

I think we will se Anakin suit up in Vaders gear at the end of EPIII, isnt there soemthing about James Earl Jones being cast for EPIII?

Endless rumours and discussions with the man himself. It is pretty likely, but still nothing concrete.

if you look at the thread "EpIII theory" you will see that he THINKS he is going to be in it for the last 5 minutes...

He's been saying that for about 4 years now. No-one is sure at all, but it is not a bad bet.

yeah, if it's not going to happen the shock of him being Anakin is big!

I don't think there is any way we will see Anakin destroy the Jedi in the prequels.
Unless it happens right from the start of Episode3.

Before we knew anything about AOTC this is what I thought would happen-

Anakin would leave the Jedi Order at the end of EP2. Somewhere between Ep2 and 3 he would join Palpatine but no one knew about it.
By the start of EP3 the Jedi were fighting in the clone wars and were being killed by Palpatines new apprentice(Anakin) but no one knew it was him. He was wearing a mask or armour or something like that. He hadn't fully turned to the dark side but was near enough there. When the Jedi found out Obi-Wan tried to turn him back. They had a fight. Anakin went into the lava and became Vader.

I'm not saying I think this any more but I don't see any other way where we could see him kill all the Jedi unless it happens at the start of EP3.
