did anyone in UK watch Bodyshockers just now on channel 4? it was about a 7 yr old boy in khazakstan who gave birth to his own twin! at the age of 7!
The condition is called Foetus in Foetu. It takes place early on in pregnancy where a woman has twin zygotes, but one of the twin cells is smaller and is enveloped in the larger twin. The little one then forms an umbilical cord inside the larger twin and feeds off it like a parasite. If its undetected then the baby is born with its twin inside it. The parasite continues to feed off the healthy twin until it is removed. I have seen a lot in medicine, but I’ve never seen anything like that before in my life. I was not grossed out by it, jus shocked an fascinated at how something like that could happen. It has only been documented a couple of times in the world so the chances are one in a billion maybe. But one thing that stuck in my mind was that 1 out of 8 pregnancies start off as twins, but only 10% of these actually end up being born as twins. Which means that 1 in 7 of us were conceived with a twin and we fought it and killed it in a battle to increase our chances of survival. Deep huh? 😑
