Real Life Mutants: Role Play

Started by Twilight Janick222 pages

Diandra held a mutant-only reunion.

Diandra: I'm asking what did you do to make the authorities detect you as a mutant and where did you live before you discovered you were a mutant.

Shdow looked around, "Us moving to a more secure spot is what I've been trying to get us to do all along. We need to move now."

"I know a single school capable of ensuring my security.", Diandra said.

"Hey, for once Jim and I agree on something." Shadow joked, lets move!"

~hey guys how's it going?~

John walked for what seemed like hours, through the forest, until he finally seemed to be getting somewhere. John finally found his way out of the forest. "Thanks God i'm out of there..." John said as he spotted something far away. "Is that a city?" John asked himself while squinting. "I hope it is, it's the only place that i can go..." John said as he began to jog towards the city.

OOC: I have a question: do we get to play each person free for all or we have to follow a plot? Anyway, where is this RP set?

~The only storyline is that we go to each state and try to destroy each mutant camp, other than that i was a free for all, and it's set in the U.S. but i don't have a clue where you guys are at now~

~Well lately - over the past 50 or so pages I'm guessing - we managed to destroy the 2nd mutant camp, can't remember where it was exactly. Shadow met his dad as a commander of the camp who ordered for experiments to be done on Shadow. A chip was planted in Shadow's brain to give the army, and in particular his Dad cotrol of him. Shadow had to fight Zack, but together we managed to escape and free the others, Shadow gaining control of his mind. The experiments edited his powers slightly, e's now got full control of his phasing ability and can move through shadows invisiblly as long as they are close together. But he's still not used to this entirely, and so doesn't use it very often. We fled from the mutant camp heading in a random direction, when we met some more run aways. Shadow finally managed to remove the chip, which also acts as a homing device, but Jim took it not knowing what it was. Shadow assumed it was destroyed and didn't mention it. The new mutants manged to defeat a sentinal which had tracked us. Now we're hidden in a forest on our way to find somewhere outside the city to hide~

Then, Diandra and her boyfriend go to Washington, D.C., to appear before the senatorial committee on plagiarism.

Senator Edwards (North Carolina): Would you please decline your identities?

Diandra: Diandra Grandchamps, Executive VP of SABC (School Aid Broadcasting Corporation) 100.0.

Yvan: Yvan Ung, President and CEO of SABC 100.0.

Senator Edwards: Are you aware of what your so-called corporation became?

Diandra: Yes, Senator.

Yvan: Mr. President, I know that SABC 100.0 is the largest telepathic exam answer broadcasting network in existence in the world.

Mr. Prickly: Do you see a problem in broadcasting exam answers worldwide as you do?

Diandra: No, gentlemen. I know the audience receives our broadcasts with unequal quality. It works better on some people than on others. That's why this should be the only other method avaible for help, since the risks for broadcasting wrong answers is still here.

hey can any1 tell me where are we now?
so that i can join? plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Zack looked at Shadow,
"You're right. Something had me in the forest, and I don't want it to get me again. We either move, or I'm going by myself."

~Suggestion - we all meet in the city, Diandre too~

OOC - Diandra will come in that particular city (hopefully, not Washington D.C.) after she gave her testimony before that senatorial committee. But please, can you tell me how long that city is from Washington D.C.?

IC- Diandra is still trapped into that audience room within the Capitol.

Senator Edwards: What's your opinion about telepathic answer broadcasting?

Diandra: I know we're going to need it if the U.S. wants to get closer from the first position in the World Academic High School ratings, currently held by Quebec (a Canadian province). It's a way to get the better averages we need to do so without the complexities of regular cheating.

Yvan: I know there's a risk of some people asking us to place ads in it. It's very tempting, but when Diandra and me founded that SABC 100.0, we lived in Quebec, where American history wasn't much of a concern, we were sued in virtue of the antitrust law. We won our cause only because of that particular subject, which we didn't originally broadcast.

Mr. Moriarty: how are we going to know which broadcaster is reliable and which one is not?

Diandra: There's some kind of semi-secret organization called the National Mutant Bureau (NMB), who holds a registry of every telepath that is capable of telepathic broadcasting. That registry is then sent as a part of the world registry held by the International Union of Telepathic Broadcasting (IUTB).

Senator Edwards: I'm required to ask if, in the course of the last year, if the IUTB asks for governmental funds.

Yvan: This is incorrect, Senator. The IUTB has subsidiary organizations in its member countries, sometimes government agencies like Canada's CRTC (Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission) whose normal function is not mutant or telepathy-related, sometimes government agencies that are mutant or telepathy-related like the NMB, sometimes non-governmental organisms like the British Mutara. The IUTB funding is provided by its certified broadcasters, depending on the size.

Diandra: Our costs this year as IUTB fees are $1.7 million. Just hope the SEC won't regard much the funds we amassed as such. Answer broadcasting is expensive fro those who needs it. For instance, the Ohio Student Union collected funds for telepathic broadcasting from our Ohio subsidiary and they paid $9,8 million for broadcasting rights for the end-of-year English exams. The total expenditure for end-of-year exams (either statewide or national) is about $2,3 billion for this year. A class-specific exam or teacher-specific exam can be left to the more local broadcasters without affecting our finances much. Our big breadwinner is end-of-term and end-of year statewide or nationwide exams. For which our market share is 61%. But our total market share is 22%.

Yvan: Answer broadcasting CAN be a way of having better marks without much risks because the immense majority of the teachers are not telepaths.

Senator Edwards: You are allowed to go.

"Agreed. The city could be too dangerous for us with all these young mutants. I'd suggest that we find somewhere to leave them nearby and sneek into the city to get what we need. We've been doing this long enough to know what we're doing. We should be able to get in and out easily then come up with a plan to destroy this mutant camp." Shadow thought for a second, "Maybe this time we could do it without getting caught." He joked.

~Right, if I remember correctly we disabled the main camp in New York, and the one in New Jersey. So that would mean that the next logical place to go would be Pennsylvania...right...?~

~You are aware that in this world mutants are hunted down and put into what are, effectively, concentration camps?

Pennsylvania - why not?!~

Zack laughed nervously, "I hope so! I'm not going to fight you again. But yes, we should split up. You, Jim and I should do the actual recon, I think - whereas the others can gather supplies and look for any other mutants."

~I know it doesn't sound very exciting, but we need to meet Diandra, and also remember we are undercover!~

~Indeed we are. Wonder what can happen to Shadow next....hmmmmm..."

"Good idea, I'll go for that." Shadow says nodding, "leave any scout work to me though. I'll be able to get by completly undetected."

"I can be back up," Zack said, "And hopefully I can pass for normal, too."

~I was actually telling Janick, just so they knows about all that stuff. Though, maybe them mutant hunting could only be in the US? Thus, Quebec would be okay.~

~exactly, i'll somehow meet you guys in pennsylvania~

John began to jog faster towards, then he looked down at his hands and tried to use his powers. "Ow" John yelled as he form a forcefield around both his hands. "Damn lightning room." John said while he was shaking his hands.

"I don't think you can, Zack, we most likely have been on TV and people could be looking out for us." Jim said.

OOC: My character has been expelled from her school in Quebec because of the principal who referred her and her boyfriend to the CIA Paranormal service. But what does it mean to disable a concentration camp?

IC: Well, well, well. Knowing that my character is near Pennsylvania's state capital as well as the other mutants, just hope the mutants won't be detected. However, Diandra's M-16 can be fully disassembled, so the parts can be hidden in an alto sax case.

"I'm not sure," Zack mused, "I think they have other mutants hunting us. That's why I didn't approach straight away. Also, they seemed to know where I was, as if they had some sort of device. I think it's purely black ops, at the moment. They don't want people knowing about the camps."

~Okay, well what we can say is the Canada is trying to live with mutants, and has even recruited a sort of mutant police force, to patrol the others?

Because America is definately against them - they are trying to eliminate all mutants. That okay, guys?~
