HOLY SHIT!

It is uniquely impressive that she managed to cut away yet more material from the last appearance of her previously-thought-to-be-impossible-to-make-smaller dominatrix outfit.

It'd be a horrendously annoying to fight in, of course, especially when you're wielding a whip with about three dozen sharp edges and points to slice away one strap and make the entire getup burst into purple confetti, but since when have Ivy fans cared about realism?

Then again, I'd bet half of you guys have wet patches from that description just now. ermm

Well how do you think her outfit ended up that way?

Just let him be. He must somehow complain whenever he sees a female that's made to look sexy.

One would think your recent ban might have taught you to stop such idiocy.

If you'll put aside your obvious dislike of me (don't worry, it just has to be for a moment) you'll notice I wasn't complaining at all, merely commentating on the ridiculousness of Ivy's newest outfit. In fact, I even complimented her (satirically, but no matter) on her achievement in cloth techniques, which is sure to make her a prominent fashion designer after she retires from the destroying Soul Edge business.

Hope you feel a whole lot better after typing that sentence. 🙂

An incorrect assumption at best.

You seem to be dissatisfied by Ivy's new appearance (actually, just about all of her appearances in the series) as well as Taki's. In fact, you've went on complaining throughout several pages in this thread about Taki's outfit expressing how much you dislike it for not being "realistic".

In addition, you made a couple of indirect bullshit claims in your posts. They are as follows:

1. Ivy fans don't care about realism. I'm an Ivy fan, and I care about realism. That's 1 that proves your claim wrong already.

2. Members who have read your post had recieved wet patches, which is the most laughable out of the two.

I like keeping things that should be remembered in view. 😊

Riiiiiight... 🙄

Not dissatisfied. Cynically amused. Ivy was highly sexualized from the get-go, and Taki was as well after Soul Edge/Blade. And what's the very first thing that they do with the two for IV? Sexualize them even further. It's not that I can't stand the sight of them, it's just that I find the fact that was their first change horribly funny.

In fact, you've went on complaining throughout several pages in this thread about Taki's outfit expressing how much you dislike it for not being "realistic".

Because it isn't. But that discussion is long over, and there's no real need to dredge it back up other than in an attempt to put me on the defensive.

Both remarks were more a joke for myself than anything you should take seriously: the first on the inherent unlikeliness of a woman in the British Empire in the latter half of the 16th Century having either Ivy's dimensions (height and otherwise) or her outfit; the second on the fact that I was most likely defeating myself with my earlier description of the possible problems with said costume.

No, you clearly don't. I don't know why you're pretending otherwise.

If you actually did express concern about realism in fights you would at least acknowledge the fact that her outfit is an extremely dangerous one to fight in. You haven't. As Kaliero deigned to point out, one wrong cut or swipe could bring the whole thing down and not only make her suffer indignity, she'd be tangled up because of it.

No one is expessing dislike here, Guilty, just mock despair, so try not to jump to silly conclusions like this so fast. I'm an Ivy/Nightmare/Raphael user myself and I know that the outfit, while extremely attractive, isn't a great idea to wear to a sword fight. It allows for a wide range of motion but offers virtually no protection.

It's sexy, but offers about the same skin protection as a paper hat.

Betcha someone says they want her fighting in a paper hat now. 🙄

Ain't that the sad little truth.

Alright, a lot of the characters in Soul Calibur, i.e. Kilik, Maxi, Yunsung, Xianghua, Talim etc. are about as unsafe as Ivy would be in a battle involving sharp weapons, since they have on very light and tearable clothing with enough skin showing. I do acknowledge the fact that it's very hazardous to fight in. In fact, I know that any SC character fighting the likes of Abyss and Night Terror is even far more dangerous.

What I meant by that, I care about realism, is the physics in the game, and how realistic it looks and plays, not so much the likelihood of someone wearing Ivy's attire in a sword fight (even the characters that I've mentioned). It is likely that they'd all dress in full protective armor, like Siegfried, though it would be boring seeing everyone dressing like that in my opinion.

The following is addressed to people in general

As for how realistic people's body proportions are and how they dress, really, why should that matter a whole lot? The game is fictional, it doesn't have to be totally realistic and historical. Heck, Soul Edge has a realm existing inside of it.

Lack of necessity is a poor excuse. Not blaming you or anything, since you don't make the games, just pointing that out.

Ivy and Taki's optional costumes either don't show nearly as much skin, or aren't as skin tight as the original ones 131

Like it's realistic to juggle people and combo their asses while they are in mid-air.

If I want to see realistic mediaval fighting with realistic outfitsI'll go rent a movie, but hey that's just me.

Damn...right....

When do fighting game fans care about ‘realism’ in a general sense? Guaranteed combos? The only move as close to guaranteed in real life comes from a swift kick to the balls followed with an uppercut to the face as they keel over. And juggle/float physics? Perhaps an uppercut to ‘lift’ the head into a hook, but I don’t see that much realism in fighting games…
