I think the most important thing here is character and IMO she nailed Jean's character. And knowing Fanke and her past performances as an evil character, she is going to ROCK as Phoenix.
That's why I think she was a good cast choice. They needed someone who could pull off a sweet and good character but at the same time someone that they knew could play Phoenix. Because lets face oit, one thing that was always certain about the X-Men film franchise was that Phoenix would show up one day!

I don't even think she did a good job portraying Jean. Sorry. I just did not like her casting.

Famke'd be perfect to star as Joanna Dark. If there ever was a Perfect Dark movie.

I must confess, to start with I found it difficult to believe that she was a nice Jean, because I was so used to her playing the bad guy!
