"Father..." she started flashing him her best smile. "Isn't there a saying that says home is where the heart is? And isn't it you and Mom who are always telling me to follow mine? Wouldn't it be disobedience not to?" she asked.

Elizabeth laid down in the sand, her hair getting wet with the rising tide.

Gov. Swann looked suspicious for a moment then answered "No, it would just be a bad choice on your part. We aren't saying you must follow your heart, we're just saying you'd be happier if you did..." he paused. "Speaking of your mother," he continued, a pained look coming onto his face,"She hasn't been so well, these past few days. The doctor says.... that she may not last through the week." He looked away quickly.

Will walked up silently. He smiled. As he stood directly above her head he cleared his throat making her jump. "Nice day?"

"Hmm." Elizabeth answered, looking up at him, smiling.

Regina's eyes widened. She bit her bottom lip to the point it bled. "Why?" she asked on the verge of tears.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
""Is that a yes, Miss Swann?" Will asked head tilted to the side.
"The doctor isn't sure. He says it something he's never seen before." the Gov. said.
Elizabeth laughed. "Thats an 'I'm not sure yet. And how many times must I tell you to call me Elizabeth?"
~Woo-hoo! I used a line from the movie!~
Regina lowered her head. "Is she here? May I see her?" she asked. All luaghter and joy had left her. Her voice was solomn.
"At least one more time as always, Miss Swann." Will said smiling. "Why are you all alone?"
Her father sighed. "Yes, she's in her room."
Elizabeth patted the sand beside her. "Sit and I'll tell you." she said playfully.
Regina walked quietly to her mother's room. She gently pushed the door open. "Mom." she whispered.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Will sat. He looked at her. "Um...now will you answer my question, please?" he asked.

Her mother looked up. She was pale and tired looking. "Yes?" she said smiling weakly. She sounded normal, but her eyes looked sad.

Elizabeth rolled her eyes at Will's impatience. "Regina's running away to be a pirate," she said sullenly.

Regina walked over to the bed. SHe picked her mom's hand up and kissed it. She blinked back the tears. "I love you." she said gathering her mom in a hug.

Will chuckled. "Nice one, miss...er...Elizabeth." he said then noticed she wasn't joking. "I never thought she would actually do that?"

Regina's mother laughed."I know that." she said, hugging her daughter. "I love you to darling."

"Yes, well apparently she is..." Elizabeth said, poking at the sand with her toes.

Regina couldn't hold it back anymore. SHe cried in her mother's arms. "Don't leave me." she begged through the tears.

Willl sighed. "You can't change the fact she loves the sea. I've seen it. She feels trapped...especilly in your shadow. Regina must believe that it's her only way to get freedom." he rationalized.

Her mother sighed and patted Regina's back, "I will never leave you." she said sternly. She peeled Regina off of her to look her in the eyes. "Do you understand? I will always be with you."

"I know. Its not the fact that she's going away to be a pirate that bothers me much. Its the fact that I won't always know she's alright." Elizabeth said, watching the clouds.

Regina nodded not looking her mother in the eye. She couldn't force herself to. "Do you need anything? Water?" she asked.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Will nodded. "I understand. But you'll know that she is in good hands with the gentleman. I believe his name is Dunsey."
Her mother shook her head. "Just the company of my daughter."
Elizabeth looked at Will. "Do you know him?"
Regina smiled and sat on her mother's bedside. "Does it hurt?" she asked.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Will nodded. "He's very friendly and nice. He talks a lot but he speaks very highly of your sister and Robert."

Her mother thought for a while. "Only after I eat..." she said slowly.

"Hmmm. Well, I suppose thats good to know." she said. She sighed and closed her eyes. She and her white dress were completly soaked now, but the sun was bearing down on them, warming her skin.

Regina looked down at the bed cover. She ran her hand over it. "I'm so sorry. It's probbal stress related and I'm the cause." she said.

Will kept his eyes averted to the sea in fron of him. "I am sure you can talk her out of it." he said.
