Re: Where did you get the name from?
Yes, but that rumour was about a fight in Ep2. And Anakin would be on one side (the good guys first) and then suddenly turn to the dark side and join the bad guys. A very unlikely scenario. Anakin should not turn until Ep3 in my opinion. And I think both Lucas and McCallum said something like that before as well.
It's a very strange and unbelievable rumour, IMHO OC.

Re: Where did you get the name from?
If you read the plot line at Aldera.Net it looks quite workable for Anakin to end up turning mid battle.
However, I don't like the idea of him loosing a hand. Plus I always envisaged him turning and almost imediately having the battle that causes him to have to wear the suit (Lava being the fate of choice)...
But that can't happen until Episode-III, right???
Re: Where did you get the name from?
i've read a million rumors and things that supposedly came from lucas. but i think the full on turn won't come until episode 3. i think it might seem like an imediate turn to the darkside in a particular instant, but there will be a series of small incidents throughout ep. 2&3 that will lead up to it. (i.e. acts of defiance and some minor outbursts of anger, etc.) i also have a feeling that the turn will come in a situation simillar to rotj, but anakin will not make the same decision as luke.
Re: Where did you get the name from?
I agree. Luke was so close to turning to the Dark Side and he only just managed to control himself. I would like it if Anakin is very much the same and really wants to stay on the light side, but just can't control himself against Palpatine. I want his turn to be very close, something that would never have happened if he had only just held on a little longer like Luke did.
Re: Where did you get the name from?
Okay, boys and girls. It is called the Kaiburr crystal, and its purpose is to increase one's perception of the force. It magnifies and clarifies in proportion to its size and density. In the beginning of the book, Luke had access to only a shard of the whole crystal which ultimately turned out to be big enough that it had to be handled with two hands. I won't tell the ending of the book for you folks who haven't read it, but this whole story is about half out of whack with the whole entire saga. Yes, Luke does chop off Vaders right arm, ala ROTJ. However, two spoilers here (ooohhh, old dusty 1978 spoilers) Luke nearly kisses Leia and Vader says "I'm sorry, Leia, I loved you." Great stuff, huh. We have a planet called Mimban, creatures like Yuzzem, Coway and Thrella (which they never explain). And last but not least, Captain-Supervisor Grammel, which as you might guess, quickly irritates our beloved Darth Vader and ends up as bantha poodoo. (I love that word, can't you tell I use it all the time 😛 ) That's the update from lovely small town Pennsylvania. Any questions, class ?
Re: Where did you get the name from?
Do you think this Kyber Darth Crystal has anything to do with the Midiclorians non-sense in Episode 2, since George said it would be more explained in the next films?
With all from what I have heard, this film is gonna kick butt, geez, I can't wait!

Re: Where did you get the name from?
I doubt that book offers spoilers. It's EU, remember! There is no way that novel provides a reliable background for the prequels, or even for ESB and ROTJ.
As far as we know Jango uses a Kyber Dart to kill of bounty hunter Zam Wessel, which indicates to me he reuses an old name or concept which has no relation to the origins of the name. Lucas once said he left the Crystal out of ANH because he saw no necessity in using it and that Force was better left a bit mysterious.
