Most disturbing moment in a movie?

Started by Myth23 pages

American History X's rape scene
Boat Trip (I thought it was going to make fun of gay people but I think it was made by gay people trying to make straight people gay as well)
Dreamcatcher when the shit weasel came around the corner because thats when I gave up all hope of that movie. It was worse when there turned out to be full size shit weasels. *gag* what a horrible movie.

"Man Bites Dog"--when he kills the old lady by shouting into her ear loudly enough to give her a heart attack.

"The Exorcist"--It's hard to nail down one specific sequence or shot, but if I had to choose, I'd say the rapid-fire demon face in Father Karras' dream.

"Natural Born Killers"--

Spoiler:
the very end, where the killers live happily ever after. Come on!

i always found the ending of casino distrubing when joe peasci charecter nicky and his bother get beating almost to death with the base ball bats then they were buried alive.

Co-signed. Forcing Pesci (?) to watch his own brother get beaten to death with baseball bats. Sickning!

Also, another one would have to be in American History X, when Ed Norton makes that one guy bite the curb, then stomps on the back of his head. Theres nothing in this world to make me do that.

The scene in Xtro when the girl births the full grown man.

IMO the only thing disturbing about The exorcists is how boring the movie is.

Spoiler here for those who haven't seen it....

My most disturbing scene definitely comes from The Crying Game... when Steven Rea's character learns that the woman he has been involved with (Jaye Davidson) isn't really a woman. If you've seen it, you know what I'm talking about. I had no idea who Jaye Davidson was at the time, so I never saw it coming <shudder>.

My God you're so right! I had to go and take a good look at myself in the mirror after that scene!

It wasn't the most disturbing, but there were three surgery scenes in Master And Commander that all made me wince. A metal coin being put into one man's skull, the kid who had to have his arm chopped off, and the Doctor when he did his own surgery on a bullet wound to the abdomen.

You know TH, instead of quoting yourself and putting spoiler tags in the quotes you could have just edited the post 😉

"Thirteen Ghosts" (2001) when the lawyer was split in half by the sliding glass, and one half slide down, and you could see the back half, brains and all. That was actually kinda cool.

Honorable mention goes to the "Resident Evil" laser grater for taking slicing and dicing to a whole new level.

And of course the token hot chick in "Jason X', getting a liquid nitrogen facial, only to have it bashed out on the counter.

Best. Death Scene. Ever.

by far the suicide and murder of the kids on Michael Winterbotomm's JUDE..i think the first time on my life i screamed at a film...too appaling....

I think a disturbing part is in the movie thriteen b/c that is sisturbing to see these teenage girls doing all this thats why its a awesome movie and should be nominated for awards

How about the cat of nine tails scene in The Passion of the Christ? That was grusome (yet awesome).

For me the most disturbing scene in a Film award goes to:

The Marathon Man

Scene Dustin Hoffman in the dentist chair:
Poor Dustin is having his teeth mangled and drilled by a pyscho Nazi Dr Szell (laurence Olivier)without anesthetic while all the time being Asked.
''Is it safe?''
''Is it safe?''
I didnt visit a dentist for 2 years after that film cause my dentist reminded me of Szell.

When the architecture student girl got shot in Schindlers List. It was done so matter of factly I remember thinking "Oh shit, I've got another 2.5 hrs of these shocks to go" And I was sitting in the front row of the cinema.

Event Horizon - when the tape is played back to find out what has happened to the crew...horrible

The last 15 minutes of Audition are disgusting

rofl @ shit weasels, my sister rented it last weekend cuz she never saw it. So I got to laugh at the burping/farting one last time 😆
