Hye there I do not think that Boot strap is dead because he took the cion,but did not give it back with his blood,he gave it to will..so I think that he will show up in the Future films.

bootstrap is dead. i am standing by me previous theory. it don't matter that he never gave blood to the medallian - the curse was lifted and everyone who was in some dangerous position (underwater, bullet in chest, sword in heart, etc.) died.
