I don't care about what any people think of me when it comes to being a lotr fan. That's why I got a lotr shirt, and I love it. That's also why I've decided to read The Silmarillion. I'll probably have to read it about 10 more times to remember half the information I need to, but anyway, being a "Lotr Fanatic" is worth being called a "nerd" if that's what it takes. ✅

Being one myself (a nerd that is), and having many nerdy friends, I find that nerds, geeks (or whatever else people, who do not do as well in school as those, whom they call nerds do, call them) generally like the fantastic, fantasy and movies that appeal to the imagination.

You need certain mental skills to play chess… So are you saying that it’s painfully obvious that those with a high IQ are Huge Fans of LotR? What does it make those who’re not? 😄
Seriously though: Not all nerds like LotR. You can find those, who're obsessed with Tolkien, putting he movies down because Bombadil wasn’t in them, no scorching, that tree didn’t look like described on page 167 or some such. So…
