"Umm..." she says. "He didn't send me..."

(Rade get us to a remote location, somewhere low profile)
"Medea, I want to thank you for your help back there. That is twice you have helped us out. Zion has some questions for Jericho, but I guess those can wait for now, what I want to know is Why did you come if jericho didn't send you?"

"Because I could not just stand by and let the Agents kill you," she says.

"When we have time I would like to hear about the story with the bounty, because it is intriging"

Before we get on to big plot revelations, does anyone have any questions about what just happened in this Assignment?

well...our second ..or not...3RD! mission in wich we fail to achieve the goal 🙂..even though it seemed to be impossible in this one 🙂..and the other ones 😄

nice plot twist.
RAde drives where fire said...
"i'm sure we can continue the lovely chat once outside the matrix" says Rade, from his driver seat.
"how can we jack out?"

"How the hell would I know?" she asks.

"Rade his opportunitism sometimes gets the best of him, they are all quite anxitious (sp) to get out of here" makes a gesture at everyone except Castor

"Anyhow Jericho set a trap for us, Do you know how he knew we were coming there?"

"Oh yeah," he said. "Melitus called him in advance and told him you were coming. So Jericho left a spammer there."

"Son of a b itch, I KNEW it!" exclaims Dallas, who is watching this exhange on the screens.

a spammer?

Actually, you think you have heard of them, Fire...

"A spammer is a trick the old school used to use," says Medea. "Back when the current Captains were newbies. It's basically a deliberate disruption of the code in the Matrix, 'white noise' ad it were. Brings Agents coming damn quick. They were used as distractions- you would spam the system somewhere, Agents ran over there, and you would be making your move- normally grabbing someone to be freed- somewhere else.

"They became too dangerous to use in the end. Agents got wise to it and the people doing the spamming ran into trouble. But Jericho said it was perfect for this. He set it up to go off in the CCC building just as we left; the Agents turned up just after you arrived."

Heph...

"Son of a *****, why go through all that trouble just to kill us? And why kill us?"

"I told you," says Medea. "You shouldn't have tried to look for him. He doesn't want to be found and he will kill anyone who tries.

"He has no time for Zion any more."

Heph...again...

"What does he spend his time doing then? Running from sentinels and blowing up colleagues? And what was the bomb in the CCC?"

"I've got no more idea than you about that! And he works for Melitus... like me."

"And WHY are you working for Melitus, rather than for Zion? Zion needs you more than some crippled coppertop in an iron lung..."

"Melitus isn't a coppertop! And like I say... it's a long story."

"He isn't a coppertop? He knows about the Matrix?"

"Of course," says Medea. "This whole plan of Jericho's; he put it together with Melitus. Melitus is a Machine- a powerful one. But... he doesn't seem to work for the System. He's some sort of renegade, it seems."

"Hmm..." Heph ponders.
