And that is when Agent 3 turns up!!!!!!!

(joke)

The lift rattles noisily as it lifts you up to the third floor. As before, you step out into an area that looks more like a luxury mansion than the top of a steelworks factor, with the long corridor that ends in that door.

-

"Hey, leave that for a moment and keep a close eye on them this time..." says Dallas, to Ariadne.

-

(Relaying...)

Heph whacks Agent Ush upside the head with his stick o' bamboo...then walks down the corridor to the door.

Azrael follows...

Well... it's a door. An elegant Georgian-style door with white panelled facings.

(I say Georgian style. It might actually BE Georgian for all you know. It would have to be simulated Georgian but then so is everything in the Matrix...)

(Relaying...)

Heph opens the door.

Hmm... this door seems to be locked, Heph...

-

"I see Heph still isn't always the fastest to grasp things, "says Ariadne. Dallas has his head in his hands

-

(Relaying...)

Heph kicks down the door.

There is a loud noise as Heph kicks the door.

Ow! Crumbs, that hurt, Heph! It's like it is made of iron!

-

"Didn't you say your crew is Zion's finest?" asks Ariadne.

"They've had a long day..." says Dallas.

-

(Relaying...and laughing...)

Heph sighs and takes out his cellphone. "Hello, care to tell me what's so funny?"

(You cannot hear them laughing, Heph! They are watching you on the screens)

"Hey there, Heph," says Ariadne. "I think you might remember Medea saying something about the door not being openable from this side?"

Azrael looks on, slightly amused.

(Relaying...and laughing harder...)

"They should hear my kicking and knocking..." Heph says over the phone. He knocks at the door.

"I like your style Heph, but that was quite asenine..." He laighs a bit at his crew mate and pats him on the bakc as they wait for the door to open.

(Hey Ush r we gonna do a load out for this one? I got no ammo for my glocks lol.)

(yeah when we start the assignment in another thread i think...)

Heph taps the door with his fingers patiently...

-

"Is that even a real door?" asks Dallas.

"Well, no," say Ariadne. "It's in the Matrix."

"Yeah yeah yeah. I mean, you know, does it do what a door does? Join two rooms together? Is it a normal door"

"It's the Matrix, Dallas. There is no such thing as a normal door. Everything that looks like a door to you in the Matrix is just the same as any perceptive connector- an archway, a window, a street, a tunnel... technically there is no such thing as location in the Matrix, just your location reference in your code which we perceive as a locative difference. A doorway is just a way of altering that coded reference so it appears..."

Ariadne looks at Dallas' blank face. She sighs.

"No, it's not a normal door..."

"A-ha! I thought so. What's wrong with it?"

"It doesn't go anywhere. It's just blind code; that is why you cannot open it, any more than you can open a wall."

"So why does it open at all?"

"I... umm... let me work on that..."

-

As you knock on the door, Heph, it opens a moment later, and you may all step inside...

(Relaying...)

"About time..." Heph says, walking inside. He says a silent good-bye to Ariadne, remembering that she has no idea what goes on inside.

Ok, in you guys go...

"Good evening, sirs," says the Butler, who awaits you on the other side of this finely adorned room. As reminder, the butler is in full butler regalia, black trousers, black jacket, white shirt and tie... and his mace is entirely covered by a blank white harlequin mask, with a small gap between it and his features so you can only see darkness through the gaps.

"I trust, again, you had a good journey?"

"The journey was good, we have some questions for Melitus"

"Indeed, sirs," says the Butler, as the door closes behind you, "and if you would care to accompany me, I would be only to happy to take you to my employer."
