"Is that even a real door?" asks Dallas.
"Well, no," say Ariadne. "It's in the Matrix."
"Yeah yeah yeah. I mean, you know, does it do what a door does? Join two rooms together? Is it a normal door"
"It's the Matrix, Dallas. There is no such thing as a normal door. Everything that looks like a door to you in the Matrix is just the same as any perceptive connector- an archway, a window, a street, a tunnel... technically there is no such thing as location in the Matrix, just your location reference in your code which we perceive as a locative difference. A doorway is just a way of altering that coded reference so it appears..."
Ariadne looks at Dallas' blank face. She sighs.
"No, it's not a normal door..."
"A-ha! I thought so. What's wrong with it?"
"It doesn't go anywhere. It's just blind code; that is why you cannot open it, any more than you can open a wall."
"So why does it open at all?"
"I... umm... let me work on that..."

As you knock on the door, Heph, it opens a moment later, and you may all step inside...
