Title Revealed
From an official site for Nolan's adaptation of Batman, contains news of the mysterious title...
It's not BATMAN: INTIMIDATION GAME, which we've now learned was the project's pre-production code name during its early development cycle. Now that Nolan's film is moving into the active phase of its production, this title will be what Warner Bros. will be refering to the film during the duration of its shoot (which begins next month) and as it moves ever forward towards its release in the summer of 2005. Let the rumors be finally put to rest: The official title of the movie is BATMAN BEGINS.
Possible Costume?
Here's a clip of some more gossip on the Batman costume from Dark Horizons...
The body and sections are dark grey and rippled somewhat to look like real skin, imagine how they portrayed Spawn and you get the right idea. The Batsymbol is across the chest armour and not in a yellow oval. The cowl and cape are black or dark blue, the cowl looks like the skin material too and is thinner and has realistic human features like cheekbones and forehead.
The ears are fairly long like in the previous movies and the design of the eyes and jaw cutaways are similar. Overall the suit doesnt look as exaggeratedly muscular as it was before and the rubber like material is thinner. I would be worried if this was made for any of the previous actors but Christian Bale is carrying a bit of bulk and beef and this suit would have been made specifically for his larger frame.
Julyan Composer?
A scooper from SHH has claimed that David Julyan will soon begin to compose music for Nolan's Batman Begins. David and Chris have worked together many times in the past on movies such as "The Following", "Memento", and "Insomnia".
Crews' Arrival In Iceland
Vignir has reported that the Batman crew is already in Iceland and will be ready in a few days to start filming in Öræfasveit. The spokesperson for the movie has told the media in Iceland to not to try to interview the cast and crew of Batman Begins.
More On Production
Vignir has provided an unconfirmed upate on the Iceland location...
Filming of Batman Begins starts today near Skaftafell in Iceland. Actors Christian Bale and Liam Neeson and director Christopher Nolan arrived yesterday and are expecting to be shooting in one or two weeks.
About 100 people from Warner and with them are Crew from SagaFilm, 150 to 200 people is working around 'Begin' here in Iceland.
The Icelandic crew has signed a contract of confidence not to talk about the film or where it's being filmed. When filming is done here in Iceland, the crew goes to England to film there.
Major Movie Update!
There is so much Batman Begins news flowing into SHH and this possible spoiler from Joe Chill is just part of it...
Spoiler:
Director Christopher Nolan (Memento, Insomnia) and screenwriter David S. Goyer (the Blade trilogy) join forces for another action-packed chapter of the Batman saga!As a young boy, Bruce Wayne watched in horror as his millionaire parents were slain in front of him--a trauma that leads him to become obsessed with revenge. But the opportunity to avenge his parent's deaths is cruelly taken away from him by fate.
Fleeing to the East, where he seeks counsel with the dangerous but honorable ninja cult leader known as Ra's Al-Ghul, Bruce returns to his now decaying Gotham City, which is overrun by organized crime and other dangerous individuals manipulating the system. Meanwhile, Bruce is slowly being swindled out of Wayne Industries, the company he inherited.
The discovery of a cave under his mansion, along with a prototype armored suit, leads him to assume a new persona, one which will strike fear into the hearts of men who do wrong; he becomes Batman!!!
In the new guise, and with the help of rising cop Jim Gordon, Batman sets out to take down the various nefarious schemes in motion by individuals such as mafia don Falcone, the twisted doctor/drug dealer Jonathan 'The Scarecrow' Crane, and a mysterious third party that is quite familiar with Wayne and waiting to strike when the time is right.
As for news on Wayne Manor, some members of the site have written in that Mentmore Towers in Buckinghamshire, UK will serve for the location. Mind you, this is not confirmed nor rumoured about before in previous SHH articles. If you would like to see an image and stats of the manor, please go here: Mentmore Towers - Image
Movie Kicks Off and Oldman Enters
On March 3rd, the WB Pictures have announced that Gary Oldman (Sirius Black in the third Harry Potter movie), will be joining the cast to play Jim Gordon. Oldman will play Lieutenant James Gordon, a detective on the Gotham police force.
As for shooting location news, Batman Begins is scheduled to film in Iceland, London, and Chicago. To all of you KMC users who live near or there, please let us know if you see anything about the movie! (If you're lucky.)
Clips On The Costumes
Batman-on-Film has posted a spoiler recently about the production of the character's in Batman Begins' costumes...
Spoiler:
A bit more on the cape--and what The Batman can do with it. The Bat will be able to fly in this film--sort of. The cape is made of some sort of advanced material that is super light, yet can become very stiff and tight when a electric current is run through it. The Batman, with a touch of a button, will be able to turn his flowing cape into "wings" and fly--or actually glide in the skys of Gotham!! Pretty cool, huh? And The Batman will be shown in some very "iconic" poses, with the cape really moving and flowing around him! Can't wait to see it on screen....I have it from a good source that Jonathan Crane will be shown with a "Scarecrow mask" in the film.
Goyer's Script Gets Reviewed
Here's a positive script review from IGN FilmForce of David Goyer's screenplay...
Spoiler:
In short, Batman Begins is ... a Western! The story features a gruff loner with a thirst for revenge who comes to town to rid it of the outlaws and corrupt officials bedeviling it. This man of violence can only trust a few townsfolk for help (I guess that makes Jim Gordon the quintessential one good deputy) and he must rely on his incomparable physical skills to get the job done. If that isn't a traditional Western plot then I don't know what is. As a huge fan of that genre, I appreciated those parallels.
As of now, the official site is up. It is only one page with the official Batman Begins logo. The URL is http://batmanbegins.warnerbros.com/

Another Filming Location
On Saturday, an anonymous source has reported...
I can confirm that Warner were filming Batman outside City Point London EC1, opp Moorgate station on the 3rd and 4th of April. Shooting was carried out at night and the Brewery (the old Whitbread brewery, now a venue) in Chiswell street was used for makeup and catering.
Martial Artist in the Midst?
Here's a possible spoiler from Lelyand Today...
A Leyland martial arts expert turned movie star is set to appear on the silver screen after filming the new Batman movie.
Mark Strange, who has been practicing martial arts for 20 years, has spent the last few weeks working on the new Batman Begins film at Shepperton Studios in Middlesex, taking the role of a Shadow Fighter.
He said: "Working on the Batman film was a great experience and I made plenty of great contacts while I was working. I was in the role of a Shadow Warrior, part of an elite team sent to combat Batman, who is played by Christian Bale."
Caine Steals the Show?
Skip the part about Caine stealing the show to the best part of this article about the military connection....
My reliable sources here in the UK have some good dirt on BATMAN BEGINS! Concerning the Bat-suit:
Apparently this suit will be an adaptation of a military power suit that Wayne Enterprises is developing. Basically Mr.Wayne nicks one and does his thing!!
David Goyer's script has really helped unmask some of the unknowns regarding Bats - "where does he get those wonderful toys?" Answer - Wayne Enterprises and its military assignments.
I've also heard there maybe references to Luthorcorp due to the military links!!
