A report on the opening night El Capitan POTC showing and Q&A 1/13/05
On the panel :

Things they said:
The official title will be Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
Ted and Terry said to tell everyone the title and that is it not Treasure of the lost Abyss. They did confirm all the title rumors floating around.
Ted and Terry also stated that Keith Richards is not in the second movie. They said there is no way he could be in #2. Then one of them said that we did not say anything about 3 though .
Bruce then asked the audience how many would like to see Keith in the movie. The audience cheered.
Bruce stated that Disney was concerned about Johnny and his appearance and even asked them if they had been drinking on the set. This went on for a week until they finally saw Johnny on the dailies.
Ted and Terry said that they had more written leeway once Johnny was aboard cause they could write a character that they knew he would love to play.
Bruce said that he keeps saying that he is not going to do any more water movies and now he is doing it... back to back water movies with POTC 2&3
They all said that the movie is still widely requested which is why they bought it back here to show on the big screen
Before the movie and panel they showed a long amount of footage from the POTC premiere.Then they had all the people who dressed in costumes come to the front of the auditorium to be introduced.
Then was the panel, then they showed the movie. Johnny of course got huge applause when he first appears on the screen in the movie.
That is the basic run down of the event.
Pirates of the Caribbean" will be projected digitally throughout the engagement at the El Capitan with daily shows at 12:30 pm, 4:00 pm, 7:15 pm, and 10:30 pm. Tickets can be purchased at the box office, by calling 1-800-DISNEY6, or on line at http://www.elcapitantickets.com./ The movie continues there till the 30th if this month.
On a side note: the casting company has the title Treasure of the Lost Abyss on their website and hotlines . They also told everyone that Keith Richards is in the movie. Not sure if things have been changed or if they jumped the gun , but maybe Ted & Terry should contact them about having these items up.
