Silmarillion

i read the silmarillion 4 months ago.
i loved it.

ush said u have to be a big fan to read it. but when a read it i wasn´t a big fan, i had just seen the lotr movie and liked it.

i think is a book for people in general. is a book of tales, fantastic ones.

the only problem i see now is that now i can´t remember most of the characters and most of the tales. but when i read it i got so into it that i forgot completely about starwars. hehe

probably the cause of my memory problem is coz i read most of it at night, people tell me thats not a very good idea. specially for a book with so much material, so many characters, so many stories...so complete.

the silmarillion is placed so much time before the lord of the rings and the hobbit, that i would say its a different story. well we know the lord of the rings happens coz the suff that happened at the end of the silmarillion and the stuff in the hobbit, but i dont see them that much connected.

well of course i haven´t read tolkien´s lord of the rings trilogy and the hobbit (which i just bought to read), i´ve only seen the movie.

of course it's not the same story, no one claimed so, but it's in the same world, and with some connections.

glad you like it though, you certainly should read LOTR now that you've read it.

I am happy you liked it, Fernando, but I maintain that for most casual readers the Silmarillion is not a good idea.

truly nobody can enjoy the lotr books without understanding the deeper history of the tales that only become apparant from reading SILMARILION.

yeah, perhaps...too late now i read 'em

THE lotr IS JUST THE END OF THE TALE.if u think lotr is ok please read the sil. it,s deeper

Don,t hang around in dark bars talking to little people offering to help them.......u have been warned.
😕

i know what it's about. It's just that i only have it as a pc doc, i don't have the book. And it's exhausting to read a book on the PC

THe silmarillion is the best book I ever read.

😇

well it aint the best book i've read. BUT MAN it was intense. SO much stuff, so many names............................egyad Tolkien had some wicked imagination.

😛
Yes he did....

Well, the history of Arda is the best story there is in this world I think, and the Silmarillion is more interesting than the other books. I recommend everybody to read it, even if you aren't a real fan, you'll be one soon!

my favorite book of all time!!!

first 30 pages is like downloading quiocktime or something, once you've done that you can understand the rest...

😆 good comparison...

I think it's quite important to be concentrated and have time when reading it 📖 and to have patience...

That's why some critics called it "elvish telephone directory" 😛

I love all the names... that's basically what first made me admire the book so much
