The 8-tails form was not Chakra. It was physical form, just like SHukaku when Naruto fought Gaara in the forest.
Naruto alluded to an ability that Jiraiya taught him right here, I believe:

He says, "maybe now I can do it". It might have been that thing Jiraiya was talking to the toad about that was on that pillar. "It" could be some uber technique that is even better than Sasuno and Amaterasu. It is probably a summoning technique for Zangetsu.
Isn't fire > wind so yea Amaterasu would probably beat the Wind rasengan. But I doubt Sasuke would use it on Naruto. Bah why couldn't Karin of just died. Sasuke can take one more death in his life. And I was going to say the 8th tail survivng as long as he did against such a hot fire was impressive..then Karin goes and lives from it without having her back burnt off.
Though what technique was Naruto talking about? Also Naruto already has nearly unlimited stamina..now he barely even has to tap into his own chakra. Course this is a great way to get him to not rely on Kyuubi if he's got so much energy himself. And Naruto's about to read the character he was named after. That's going to be sad when he finds that out.

I was thinking that the Sage training was a way for Naruto to circumvent the Kyuubi, as well. It will help him keep his conviction of not realying on the Kyuubi.
Naruto could also be talking about that ability to control the Kyuubi enough to force it to do what he wants. The 8-tails seemed to have mastered his ability to control his demon. So why can't Naruto go full cloak and make the demon do exactly what he wants?

whatever the case may be, i bet naruto is gonna be awesome in his next fight since he appears to be strong like sakura and he can absorb chakras from nature. plus he is getting more mature from that hard training regimen. dame he's gonna rock soon!

^thats because we all know that 9 tails is by no means a regular bijuu. all the others are required simply to CAPTURE it in the statue or else, its power wud crumble the statue. i have always thought that the 9 tails is the ultimate{or going to be} villian in naruto,a nd i really think that even though madara probably summoned it, he cudnt control it, and hence over the eras, he had to create the akatsuki and the whole demon sealing busines JUST to get his hands on the power of the nine tails.
also, i still dont realise how the sharingan/rinnegan/kyuubi histories fall into place. after all, all three of them cant be the most powerful phenomenon can they? there is also the wierd aspect of yondaime and his shiki fuujin, shinigami. that thing was powerful enough to seal the kyuubi{albeit not forever} outright, so where did that power come from and what is the shinigami?

Finally some black characters in Naruto, and strong ones at that. Before someone thinks I'm getting all PC on Naruto I'm not. I'm glad to see black characters, but unlike some other forms of media I didn't mind them not having any, because anime is made for and by people in a country that has almost no black people.
