So nothing special and rather generic but chapter 599 of the actual manga had that as a mini-story and Obito was sympathetic. The problem? Once it gets elaborated on it turns out he lost in the very final round(the audience laughed at the guy in second place). The kid is also only 6 and being trained under the Hokage himself. And one year later he curbstomps the Exam.

can't even read quality naruto talk without it getting hijacked by some entitled otaku feminist's fanfics and heavy handed opining. it's definitely foreshadowing to the state of affairs when the official manga finishes and this place will be your personal universe i guess.
