To be honest I thought the best part of the chapter was when Tsunade difused all the tension behind Shikamaru's will to live. Seriously I laughed my ass off when she just touched him and suddenly he's perfectly fine.
Overall though this chapter was pretty lame. We didn't even get a Madara/Hashirama homoerotic moment. C'mon Kishimoto you can do better than this.

Rest assured, had I joined in on the uproar, Shikamaru would be dead. At this point, I'm not even kidding.
Guys Kishi never planned on killing Shikamaru. We didn't even see what put him near death. If he was going to be killed by Obito then it would show him being harmed by Obito's attack.
Here's hoping for an epic battle to finally get going. Also I hope Madara is smart enough not to let the shinobi take down the tree.
