So Madara appaears young because he's immortal.... wonder why he's posing as 'Tobi' someone as powerful as him, why should he conceal his true identity from the other Akatsuki members.... going to be interesting times for Manga readers
Spoiler:That was all that was truely revealed.
Madara is the leader of akatsuki and he had a younger brother. He took his brother's eyes to keep from going blind. To obtain true sharingun power, you must still a friend's or sibling's eyes.
Actually Tobi was revealed to be Madara. Tobi said to Pein for him to go after the Kyuubi. After he finished fighting Jiraiya he said that Madara told him to go after Kyuubi. So yea that I think would confirm it.
All I know if that if Kishimoto lets Sasuke get his eye ripped out I'll like him as a manga artist until I die. Though I still believe it's all been a genjutsu and everything I do admit I like the way Sasuke gets his shuriken.

Yes.
After the Sasuke retrieval arc, I would recommend just skipping straight to the Shippuden episodes unless you just love the supporting characters so much that you're willing to watch filler. The filler episodes tends to expand on the supporting character's and there powers, like Hinata and Shino.

I didn't watch the filler. Once the Sasuke retrieval arc ended, I skipped to Shippuden.
You don't necessarily "miss" anything, story wise as all the filler episodes are independent, and once the episode ends the events are never spoken of again and hold no relevance to the future stories.
Eh.. long story short, Hinata becomes slightly less pathetic and useless , Shino shows some of his powers. Rock Lee uses his gates again and does some more homoerotic stuff with Gai.
Those are the highlights.
Okay....the whole Sasuke winning everything is getting on my nerves. I can sort of understand it being that Sasuke is stronger than Kakashi and Kakashi stayed up for a bit after being Tsukiyomied but to absolutely beat it with a weaker sharingan and compare it to rocks and shuriken. Revenge may be a powerful motivator but it's like taking fire to set a pool filled with water on fire. Now I know if Sasuke uses Chidori against Wind Rasengan he'd just completely own Naruto even though Rasengan is stronger, and Wind beats Lightning. Now Sasuke's going to survive something hotter than the sun everybody knows it.
