News on the Naruto dub from Anime InsiderIt says that Shopro will air Naruto in September, and the first DVD will be released in December. Although the Toonami version will be editted, the DVDs will supposedly be purely uncut. Shopro's reason for putting it on Toonami and not on Adult Swim is to boost the show's popularity.
Things that will be cut out or editted are as follows:
Any blood that flows out of a character (except for when Naruto stabs his hand).
Zaku's exploding joints in episode 40.
Sasuke's throat full of needles in episode 16.
Any cussing.Things that will not be cut out or editted are as follows:
Naruto stabbing his hand.
The Sexy no Jutsu.
Blood that does not flow out. Also, all of the ninja moves will keep their original Japanese names! (Such as: Kagebunshin no Jutsu, Sexy no Jutsu, etc.)
Found that at tvtome.com. Doesn't sound to bad!
Caught eps 141..was it?
Anwyays, finally, Naruto, Sakura and the ol' perverted hermit (too lazy to look up his name) are finished with the raiding of Orichamaru's fortress.
Has anyone else been feeling annoyed at Sakuras inability to help what so ever? I'm just glad that once they got back to Konoha she chose to receive medical ninjitsu training.
Wonder what the next mission/story line will be? (we need more Kakashi material soon)
One of the most highly anticipated American anime broadcast network TV debuts in recent history has been given a confirmed date. The Naruto anime series first American dubbed episode will air Saturday September 10th at 9:00PM as part of the Cartoon Network Toonami block. Following episode 1, episode 2 of the series will air directly after at 9:30PM meaning Naruto will kick off with a one hour display. Cartoon Network will then repeat the full hour at 10:00PM. On Saturday September 17th the Naruto anime series will settle in to its normal broadcast timeslot of 9:00PM. Of course it is important to check your local listings especially in the Central timezone so you don't miss out on Naruto as it first airs! Following the regular time for Naruto will be One Piece and Bo-bobo.
There you have it folks! September 10th is the confirmed release date.
If anyone want's to see the Naruto promo that aired on May 30 on Toonami, then paste this URL in the address bar: http://www.toonamiarsenal.com/temp/cn-toonamipreviewnaruto.mov
Note: You need quicktime to play this.
I still don't think it's a good idea airing it on Toonami.
There are some very intense scenes in Naruto, like the scene where Garra(probablly mispelled) is a child and the only person he thought loved him attempts to kill him is pretty intense and I don't know how kids will react to those sort of emotional scenes.
