Boss Nass

Don't worry. Funnier than anything I can make up. Still, you never know. Perhaps he NEEDS the shells. Ever seen Demolition Man? In that they use shells to wipe themself after going to the toilet. I have no idea how that do that though.

Maybe we will see him just throwing around his saliva again.

What was the point in him doing that? I find that clicking sound he makes rather annoying too.

I wear a hearing aid in my right ear and I found both Boss Nass and the Nemoidians very difficult to understand. I had to concentrate really hard on what they were saying to understand what was going on in the beginning. Good thing George does those crawls.

I actually find Jar Jar hard to understand sometimes.

Gundark, I have good hearing in both ears, though my left eye is rather dodgy but that's another story!!!

Anyway, my point was that both Boss Nass and the Nemoidians were hard to understand with two good ears. Nightmare huh?

I'm lucky. We have subtitles where I live and then the English is very easy to understand. Well, the Neimodian-English that is. Gungan subtitles were also hard to understand. LOL

I'm partially deaf in one ear, but for some reason I didn't find Boss Nass or the Neimoidians hard to understand at all. I guess it kind of depends on how good you are with certain accents. Maybe thats why I had trouble with Jar Jar's accent. I'm no good with Jamaican I guess.

Well, good for you Daft. After all, it was only JarJar.

I had trouble understanding JarJar too. I've seen TPM only about 10 times and I'm still picking up stuff. RC, what is a dodgy eye ?

Doesn't work right. I was born with a congenital squint in my left eye and I had it operated on when I was about 6 or 7, this was waaayyy beofre laser surgery so it was a good old scalpel and stitchs job with my left eye popped out onto my cheek for the doc to operate on.

Anyway, that left me about 60-70% blind in my left eye. (so much for correcting a cosmetic defect huh???)

Anyway, I was offered the chance to go see a Russian specialist to have it sorted out about 2 years ago but I figured that I wouldn't as I have learnt to live my life basically living with one eye and I didn't want to go through learning to do everything with 2 eyes like driving and even walking.

I don't even think about it, I have enopugh vision that I can see shapes and stuiff but can't make out details unless I turn my head but after 24 years it's "normal" to me.

This should be in GDF, but you asked.

Sorry if this is a little gory but at least it's Halloween.

Yeah, speaking of Halloween, I like the new layout for your site, Ratcat.
Anyway, better get back on topic before someone tells us off.

Thanks for the bit of education, RC. It seems you've really learned to deal with it as best you can. 🙂

Further comment on the topic...I also felt Boss Nass was too easily swayed when Amidala was on her knees asking for help against the droid army. When he was originally confronted by obi wan and qui gon at the beginning, he was quite adamant about his whole position on the naboo-gungan relationship. AND I didn't see anything about the gungan's holy place where the gungans were hiding that made in secretive. It looked like any other place in the forest to me.

Well, as we know from the Smurfs a place in the forest can be very hard to find.

According to the "Inside the Worlds of Episode 1" book the Gungan Sacred Place was in the mountains right in the middle of the huge forest. Remember, the Trade Federation would only search close to Gungan cities or close to Theed or Naboo cities. They would not bother searching around every part of the forest especially the parts in the mountains, so it was in fact quite hidden, from the Federation at least.
