So Squeaky what, in your opinion, classifies a child. IS it the minor laws in America that classifies them? I am totally against child porn, so don't think I am defending it in any way.

I think anyone under the age of 17 is a child in my opinion.

well peeps, if any1 has gone to actually read some slash HP, then u'll c that pretty much all of it is set in their 5th, 6th or 7th year, AND Fred and George etc are older than harry+draco anyway (linkin back 2 what was first stated). Not many writers do write about the 'underage' children, 1st to 4th year for example. So really there shouldnt be much proplem with it see?

You know, Candy has made it clear that she isn't looking at porn. She's just reading fanfiction; she even said it's something like a fanfic thats a sequel to OotP. Maybe there just so happens to be a situation where there is some slash, but she told us thats it's not anything like that. I totally agree with Trickster. Most characters are 15+, and the authors usually do not put in sexual situations if they are under 18.
And Candy's not looking at porn, so it doesn't matter. And, as wrong as Squeaky thinks it might be, people are still going to do it. So until she trys to hunt everyone down and chain them up for writing slash, it doesn't look like there is going to be anything stopping people from reading slash. And just because anyone under 17 is a child in her opinion, it's not like they are going to say "Oh no. Squeaky said I'm a child. I guess I can't read the fanfic." What I don't understand is why Squeaky is trying to make what Candy says a big deal, when it's not. Just let the girl read her fanfiction.

I agree. What kind of college student goes on forums and starts debating whether or not it's right to read slash? Oh yeah, the kind that doesn't actually go to college. oh wait--maybe she does go to a college. You know, the imaginary college?
