OK now exa has to come with her pronounciational appendices again 😛 au is not pronounced like o, but like ah-oo 😉 and Saruman is the only one in the film who speaks it the right way 😛
It's only shortened to o in combinations with other words whose syllables are stressed afterwards while the -au gets the unstressend part - like in raug (demon) -> Balrog 😛
