The Eldar...?
Ok basically there are two "types" of elves... those that started the great journey to Valinor (Eldar) and the others who stayed behind (the Avari or the Unwilling)...
... then there are three main groups of Eldar [the avari also belonged to these kindreds but werent counted among them] - the Vanyar or Blondelves, the Deepelves - Noldor and the Teleri.
Now those that really reached Aman are called the Calaquendi, Lightelves, among them are practically all of the Vanyar; most of the Noldor also saw the light, but moved back to the Dying Lands. The Teleri were the slowest to travel and many stayed behind - some already near Mirkwood, Anduin and the Misty Mountains (the Nandor) of whom some later came to Beleriand (Laiquendi); some stayed near the coast of Beleriand in search of their King, Thingol, the Eglath, later called Sindar or greyelves because through the Valacirya a little of the Light reached their eyes and still they lived in the mists of the woods of their king Thingol Greymantle. Those who really reached Aman are the Lindar, Singers, or Falmari, Coast-people.... so the Teleri are Darkelves, Greyelves and Lightelves all in one 😄
