He's nice. If his friends are going to beat up some guy then he wont be involved in it.

katherine sat alone afterschool in a nearby bench and watched the kids walk by

Derek was about to leave on his skateboard when he saw Katherine out of the corner of his eye. He walked over casually and sat town on the bench. "You uhh... mad at me for what I said earlier?"

~So its afterschool now?~

Katherine looked down at her feet and then looked at Derek. "Of course not...I know I am pathetic to you...and I know that you may...what I'm trying to say is that I just want to be popu--...no...I just want to be happy and I know what will make me happy but," Katherine looked up and saw Deborah tickling and Alex and laughing.
"FOrget it , I'm sorry for taking your time, but hey I'm not mad at all"

~yup~

"Ok.. You ever need anything, don't be afraid to ask," Derek said as he got on his skateboard and started heading home. (he's the helpful type)
He skated up to his house, opened the door and walked in to see a guy he didn't know beating his mother. Apparently he was high, based on the way he was acting and the smell of pot smoke that still lingered in the room. "Get the hell off her, you creep!!" He yelled. He grabbed the guy by the arm and "escorted" him out. Normally Derek would have had trouble dragging him around like that, considering that he was significantly bigger than Derek, but he was quite disoriented at the time.

*Mika desided to stick around school for a while. She almost never went home. She didn't really like it at home. Her fathers hobby was beating her and her little brother up and Mika's mother wasn't really the loving kind either.Mika usually slept outside her school or on the streets.Mika even had gotten a job so she could buy food and clothes.Later that day she was going to go home and get her brother and then find him a safe place to be when she bought food and then they were going to find a safe place to sleep.*

"Derek Nix, where do you think you're goin'?!", his mother yelled to him as he started to leave. He ignored her and kept going. She would be fine in a couple of hours. He had a friend who owned a restaurant, where he worked some days after school.

Allor stood on the soccer field. It was at least three thirty. Her friend stood in goal frowning.

"Come on, Krys." Allor told the girl who huffed.

"I love being goalie and all. Just not when you shoot." Krys complained.

Derek walked into the restaurant called "cafe Zenon". He took an apron from the rack and tied it around his waist. "What do you need done?", he asked his friend, who indicated to a a large bowl of various vegetables.
"Chop those up."

((is Elmstreetfan still playing?))

(((I think so. He hasn't been on)))

Allor's stomach growled. She smirked. Fifteen minutes later, Allor and Krysten were on their way to Cafe Zenon. They walked inside.

*Mika was still hanging around school.*

((lol... Cafe Zenon is the name of a restaurant here... I know it was my idea it just sounds funny to hear somebody else using it...))

It took Derek ten minutes to finish. "Need anything else?" he asked the chef.
"Uh... Nope. You can go sit down and have something to eat if you want." Derek untied his apron and left the kitchen. He was about to sit down somewhere when he saw Allor and Krysten already at one of the tables.
"Hey Allor," he said as he sat down next to them.

Allor smiled. "Sup, Derek?" she asked. "This is my friend Krysten. Krysten, this is Derek."

Krysten gave a small smile. She shook Dereks hand.

Derek nodded once to Krysten. He tried to be friendly, but there was something... distant in his face.

Krysten frowned. "Are you alright?" she asked. "Something seems to be bothering you." she glanced Allor.

"Uh.. nothing really.. I'm just a little worried about my mother..."
