Allor smiled softly. At least he wasn't shutting her out completely. "Okay." she said. "but you know you can tell me anything."
"Yeah," Derek said. "You ever feel like everybody hates you? And you're not sure why, but then you start thinking about it, and the more you do, the more you realize that they have good reason to? That's how I feel right now. Like I'm living in a Nine Inch Nails song," he said quietly.

Allor smiled. "Every day, Derek. Every day of my life."
"Well... When we were coming home from that restaurant this morning, something just made me realize what an idiot I am. Then, I started thinking about shit... Like how pointless life is, like some cruel joke, we just run around doing a lot of things that seem like accomplishments, but are just meaningless empty fulfillments that make us feel good about ourselves and feed our already massive egos... Because in the end, we all just die anyways, and nothing we've done means anything, even to help other people, because everything else on this goddamn rock just ends up in the same place as we do: dead! So I got to thinking about this, and I remembered what it was like being on that shit, how good it felt to escape from reality, even if it was only temporary... Then afterwords, I think about what a weak, worthless, piece of shit I am for taking the cheap way out, and I start the whole ****ing cycle over again! Dammit, life sucks!"
Krysten nodded as they reached the bar. The doorman didn't even bother them.

Allor sighs. "So you think no matter what we do or how we feel. It's worthless and nothing good will come out of it?" she asked. "Because i got a call from the new soccer captain who said I could still be on the team if I take up one other after school curriculum."

Jorgen looked down at his drink. "yea, well, I think she has someone else."
She touched his arm, and gave his cheek a kis getting sause on her top. "Oh shit.." she growled, it was her favorit shirt. "This is going to stain.." she pouted looking at him. 'Sorry its my favorite shirt... " she whimpered.
"Yeah, but it's pointless. In 70 years we'll both be dead anyways, and nothing we did will mean anything. People go to school, and they work their asses off to get into a good college, so they can get a good job, so they can work some more for 40 more years, so they can retire and die with some kind of meaningless self-fulfillment that they've actually accomplished something. But what does any of it actually mean? Nothing!"
