KAtherine looked at Krys and smiled, "Krys there is nothing between me and seth, I mean he's changed and he saved me from those dumb jocks, and helped us out that party night, but I am only grateful, not sorry that I am not his friend." She straightened her little black blazer, she had bought it especially for this, it had a big pink flower pinned to it and had on sime nice jeans and high black pumps.

Derek sat down next to his lawyer at a desk, an nervous and uncomfortable look on his face. He somehow still didn't believe what was happening to him.

The judge entered the room. "All rise," he said in a monotonous voice.

Derek felt a weird sense of surrealness, like it was something out of a dream.

KAtherine bit her nails as she rose, she was so worried for him.

Allor slid her headphones off and stood. Jorgen and Krys did the same. Allor and Jorgen's stancewere that of a skater and boarder. Marria stood and straightened her skirt.

Derek stood up, and after the judge had said all that ceremonious crap that I can't be bothered to recite, sat back down again. The judge called him to the witness stand, and he was sworn in.

"How do you plead?"

"Guilty."

The judge looked surprised. Apparently he didn't believe that somebody who looked like Derek would have any sense.

Allor stiffled her laughter. She turned her head. This got the judges attention.

KAtherine gasped, 'Why didnt he fight for it' she thought

JOrgen layed a reassuring hand on Kat's shoulder. He lowered his head to her ear. "He knows he's doomed. If it were Allor or I it would be the same way. Derek know's whst he is doing." he whispered.

Derek smirked for a second, looking at Allor.

"So tell me son, in your own words, what happened," the judge asked.

"I was at the skating rink, for God knows what reason, and this bastard Seth was also there. Believe me when I say I have every reason to hate him. He told the cops I kidnapped that girl over there," he said, pointing to Kat, "and I damn near got thrown in jail over it. I could say a lot of other things about him, but I know it wouldn't make a difference. Anyways, I started looking at him, and I just got this feeling... I couldn't hold myself back, so I went over and beat the sh*t out of him. Then this security guard guy came over and tried to separate us, and I beat him up, too. And I know what I sound like, but I honestly don't give a f**k. I'm going to jail anyways, so let's just get the damn thing over with. I just figured, it's better to burn out than fade away, right?"

Katherine gave jorgen a weak smile.

Allor couldn't stand it. She double over and laughter. she then fell to her knees laughing. Jorgen tried to help her stand but ended up on the floor with her in his laugh while they both laughed.

Derek saw Al and Jorgen laughing on the other side of the room and soon started doing it himself. He didn't understand how she could be so damn optimistic, but he liked it. She didn't seem to ever take anything seriously.

Jorgen got up and helped Allor up who inbetween giggles said. "I'm" giggle "sorry" giggle "your" giggles uncontrollably.

Jorgen finished for her. "Honor." He sits down and bites his bottom lip to stop laughing. Allor covered her mouth and nose with her hand.

Katherine shook her head, she smiled, she was thankful that Allor was there she made things a bit less dreadful. Katherine was really worried about derek going to jail though.

"Jesus Christ," Derek coughed under his breath. The judge was horrified. "Dude... Chill, just ignore them." He knew it was a bad idea to call a judge "dude", but at this point he figured it didn't matter.

KAtherine went over to Allor and said, "Allor we cant just let him go to jail, i mean they're murderers and psychos!, And Derek well he's um , um , not!"

"So I guess what I'm trying to say is... For anybody who might've thought I shouldn't be going to jail, you don't know what you're talking about. I'm not going to name anybody, but you're out there and you know who you are. So just sit the hell down and learn to deal with it."

The judge looked at Derek, apalled. "Well, we did have a few more witnesses, but since you seem to be so eager to have this over with, then I think I'll excuse the jury so they can make their decision."

KAtherine's eyes were wide open and started to get teary, she couldnt believe what Derek had said. She grabbed her purse and stormed out of the courthouse without looking back at Derek.

She sat on a bus bench and called her house.
"Hello"
"Mom?"
"Whats wrong baby, you sound upset, did they find your friend guilty?"
"I sont want to talk about it right now, can you pick me up I am at a bus station near the court house.
"I'll be ther in 10 minutes, k hun"
Katherine hung up, she wiped the few tears that had ran down her cheek.

The jury filed back in and announced that they had unanimously found Derek guilty. He stepped down from the stand and held his hands out to a cop to be handcuffed. The policeman did so and led Derek down the center of the courtroom. He had known he was going to be found guilty, but somehow it came as a shock. He was actually going to jail. He remembered being here a long time ago, when they found out his father was dealing drugs. He recognised that he was going the same way. Once again, he felt like he was living in a dream. The trip out of the courtroom seemed to take a lifetime. As he passed Allor and Jorgen, he gave Al a look that said plainly, "goodbye". When the cops finally got him outside, he passed Kat. He hadn't realized how hard she had been taking it. To him, crime was just part of life, and he recognised that it wasn't the same to her. He glanced over at her, as if to apologize, though he said nothing, then turned away and shook his head. Before long, he was in a police car sitting through what felt like the longest car ride of his life.
