i think its because it's generally the guy is taller than the girl being five seven in a school of midgets i have learned this the hard way. plus it looks weird when short guys hug tall girls (if you get the gist)

And also in the episode where the teen titans go inside mumbos hat and turn into animals, did anyone see that when right before mumbo started singing when Starfire, Cyborg, Robin were in gloves, and Raven inside the cage. Did anyone notice that most of the time Beast boy is the shortest, then Raven, and the Robin, then Starfire, then Cyborg, thats the order from smallest to largest they were placed. of course that was the order of their heights before Beast Boy had a small growth spurt, because later, he was taller than Raven.

Slade is the coolest bad guy and ya I would love to see Robin finally kill Slade , and Cyborg die and have Beast Boy have a tragic death as Raven turns evil with her dad.And Terra is alive and kills Raven for killing Beast Boy but dies at the same time cuz Raven like uses some weird move.Then Robin and Starfire kill Trigon and they are the only ones left. That would be so freakin awesome!
