My avatar is a sketch by John Howe, showing the banner of Mordor...
... the sig has a quote from the Narn i-Chín Húrin in the Unfinished Tales I liked a lot...
And Túrin Asked Him: "What Is Fate?"
It's from Túrin's childhood when he is just a few years old and always talks to a servant in his father's house, Sador Labadal, asking him loads of questions about his life before he hurt his leg - about the Dagor Bragollach, about the Fate of elves because his father always compared his sister Lalaith to an elven child, and about Fate... I think his question is quite interesting, and so is Sador's reply.
I liked the pic of the dragon, it somehow does show Túrin's own "fate" - he kills a dragon, but then himself.
New quote up. From the witch king in the book.

Come not between the nazgul and his prey! Or he will not slay thee in thy turn. He will bare thee away to the Houses of Lamentation, beyond all darkness, where thy flesh shall be devoured and thy shriveled mind be left naked to the lidless eye.
Had to remove 'The Matrix has you, Mr. Frodo' Apparently, I had too many lines. Forgot what my custom title says. I have to check it out.

"She looked to find her son there awaiting here. But if you are he, then I fear that all has gone awry."
Then Túrin laughed bitterly. "Awry, Awry?", he cried. "Yes, ever awry, as crooked as Morgoth!" And suddenly a black wrath shook him; for his eyes were opened, and the spell of Glaurung loosed its last threads, and he knew the lies with which he had been cheated. "Have I been cozened, that I might come and die here dishonoured, who might at least have ended valiantly before the doors of Nargothrond?" And out of the night about the hall it seemed to him that he heard the cries of Finduilas.
