well i HAVE published a book, but it is not out just yet, i'm still waiting on the editor's proofs, check out PublishAmerica.com, they are very helpful, and don't worry about doing it over the internet, i emailed the whole thing to them, and they liked it, and sent me a contract to look over, during that time, i sent it to the library of congress to get it copyrighted, check out libraryofcongress.org for more info on that, other than that, good luck and if you have any more questions pm me or email me at [email protected]
I don't know how old you are, but if you're a teenager, you might try http://www.thesunmagazine.org/
They publish fiction, poetry, photography, interviews, etc.
ok, first of all Publish America might not be the best place to start. My brother got accepted and a contract from them, but we had the contract reviewed by our lawyer friend and he advised us to seek other places.
Publish America:
1.) Does not promote your book
2.) Sale your book at a VERY expensive price, therefore no one buys your book. Example, they had this 90-page toddler book jacked up to $14.99, plus tax. This was only after the 25% discount from Barnes and Noble!
3.) Years to come, when you want to publish more books, you will want teriminate your contract with them, which is another legal battle that I don't even want to get into.
Just the pasing the word.
Do what you will . .. no, what you must.
IMPORTANT: Do not sign on the dotted lines.
You will regret it.
I'm talking from experience.
