how to audition for harry potter!

The Drama Workshop was yesterday and there were around 36-40 girls there.....they met the GOF director and they were filmed while doing some stuff....

wow! i'm so excited to find out who gets it 😊

come to think of it, Cho's must be one of the most challenging roles in the movie - a lot of acting is required from her coz she doesnt talk much but is very emotional.. i think the difficult scenes for her are these:

1. 2nd task scenes - underwater! she should be a good swimmer

2. Cedric's death scenes - she's required to cry a lot, thats not easy for a beginner

i agree thats the the thing that worried me the most - i thought they mite ask evrybody to cry in the audition. but she'll hav to be skinny and a good swimmer.

Won't they just use special effects? Cause she has to be tied to something doesn't she so I don't think they'd leave them underwater tied up to film....

lol - good point. but shed probs need to do a bit of swimming i think...

actually, my friend who's been training and is still training to be an actress says that they use a wind machine in front of a green screen and add in all the water effects by computer....at least that's what they did in lotr, she says.

What i know is that they always combine CGI with real shots - like in Spiderman - I'm very familiar with how they did it coz someone from behind the scenes discussed it with us in a message board like this.

they actually shoot the scenes - one using the real actor/s, another using doubles or stuntmen/stuntwomen - then they choose which shots look better - then they touch it up with CGI during post-production to make them look perfect.

they will definitely use effects, but i'm sure they will still shoot - even just briefly - some underwater or swimming scenes - its hard to fake, it wont look realistic - or they can always opt to let the quality of the finished product suffer 😘

the only question is - will they use the real actors? they can use doubles for long shots, but they have to use the real actors if they will do closer shots.

i reckon during the scene where she's tied to the statue or something underwater, they will use a mannequin like they did for Hermione.

Really, you don't expect her to hold her breath do you.

They'll probably only show Cedric dragging her up from the water and sputtering in each other's faces.

and Swim?

i dont think they'd use a mannequin though.. if you're referring to a classic solid plastic-like mannequin - coz it would look too stiff.. she must look.. well, like you said - limp

maybe a doll-type dummy or something more life-like.
