I am a person who has experienced what it is like to record in recording studios. You don't understand how hard and how frustrating it can be. Not only did Napster rip off Metallica, they ripped off newer bands who have no money!!! With Metallica being rich, they helped these new bands out. Besides if you wrote a song and you were ripped off, wouldn't you be pissed off!

well it is just the way of the world and the cd prices are to high cause the bands anfd record companies are to greedy. So the Napster thing was kind off a slap in their face, too bad about new bands though, but there always gonna be victims. 🙁
Metallica was conserned about their dropping cd sales, might have been other causes to their dropping sales.

little thing to say: Artists don't make that much on CDs as you might think!

I read that CD sales were higher while Napster was on!

Personally I tend to like the feel of a nice new CD myself... 😄

Yeah, and burning your own CD's. . . those things scratch so easy, then they skip 🙁

same with me. people have a CD I want and ask me 'want to loan it so you can burn it?' and I'll say 'no, I think I'll buy it instead'

it's not like it's expencive, most of us can afford a CD now and then.

I only accept the original stuff in my cd shelves.
When on holidays; I have no problem burning stuff, this way I spare the originals from getting left behind and so on...
