It's fairly balanced in Terenas.
If you want to heal, go priest. I have a lvl 60 shadow priest, and while they're fun, they don't have many options to stay alive once they're being attacked. Also, people tend to attack priests first because they heal and they have little or no defense.
If you want to do magic damage, go warlock. I'm leveling a Warlock right now, and so far it's great fun. Warlocsk have so many interesting and unique skills and spells and pets, so many options available. Plus, in PVP warlocks are usually the last casters to get attacked, most go after priests and mages first.
Rogues are great for world pvp, and they're great fun, but they're very simple to play and very hated because of their cheap and cowardly tactics. They don't offer much in Battlegrounds pvp.
I'd say go for a warlock.
Awesome, warlocks sure can be very devasting, there is a guy on my server called Zerokool, and damn he has once crited for 7k's 😮 he has full felheart and the Nemesis helmet, tho there is another guy with almust full Nemesis but he cant play as good, but this pala guy I dueled was so sucky, he had full Lawbringer exsep the helmet (he had Lionheart Helm), it is even better then Lawbringer helmet anyway) and I have only Lightforge full set I mean he was healing, he was shielding, and even first aiding, I was laughing so hard the whole duel trough it was really amusing, anyways my goal atm is to get the Destroyer of the worlds sword from Hakker in Zul Gurrub, its an awesome sword and IMO the better chooice then Sulfuras, Sul will take many mounths to compete and ALOT of money for pure mats to amke, so why not take this baby

it has a fairly good chacne of droping and looks way better aswell, it dose infact look like a destroyer of worlds, and after that I will pvp all day everyday to get rank 10 or above, and ge the awesome pvp set, paladins are very devastating if played right, I've beaten fully clad Bloodfang rogues in instnaces and with the pvp set and that sword I will pwn much more ass, currently if Seal of Command and normaly hit crit at same time im doing a hit for 2100 dmg the set will only make me better at dmg, im also top dmg dealer in guild, and I dont have 1 epic yet besides my horse that is 😛 , this is from scholo last week where I kicked some more butt 😛
Yeah the drop rate for LF helmet is horrible, I went there a thousand times before it dropped, anyway im also going for the pvp set now that my LF is complete, and I met another plai the other day and used the dressing room and I cant wait for the rank 10 .) check this out my in full pvp set, hope to get it before 1 month 🙂
Best lock tactic is to ''disable'' the lock, stun, gouge, fear whatever you then need to take their pet down, usualy the lock will use imp or the fel, they can be easy to destroy, and preist should also use the shadow protection vs a lock since it makes fear resist much much more, im a pala din so i use my shadow aura and i have special gear for locks and SP, also use it if we'r going for Kazzak, with it and my own aura I have 220 shadow res, and that makes me immne to ALOT of their stuff including Death coil, and I also carefuly watch their hands to see what kinda spell their casting fire or shadow so I quickly chacnge aura depeding on what their planning on, I resist 8 out of 10 fears most of the time vs SP and locks, but what are your toughts about AQ? on my server its going pretty good, also one fo the big guild here on has started a lotto to make more ppl fuel the war effort, see they use this alt char and they then you mail a stack of the needed items (wool, Linen and whatelse) to this char, and they then as you can imagine get lots of stuff sent in cause the winner price is runs to MC, or Oniyxia, and the winner can take all the items on the runt hat their calss can use, tis pretty awesome specialy for folks that have never been or seen those places, its good idea and has speeded the war effort 🙂 also it was amazing to see all the players at AQ the night when you could see hte flashbacks from the past and hundreds of horde and alliance players gathered to see.
I've given away an amazing 30g cumulatively so far.
The most of it was today, when I paid for one of my party to recieve a fiery enchant for free. Saved at least 6g though.
I also bought Wyrmslayer Shoulders for 20g less than what they normally go for, and Lord Alexander's Battle Axe for 50-70g less than what they normally go for.
Savings are fun.
