It's not that he claims only four........he has only directed four. He does take credit for all the other characters he's written for movies, even if he didn't direct them.....he still wrote the scripts/characters.
My favorite characters:
Vic Vega/Mr. Blonde - Reservoir Dogs
Jules Winfield - Pulp Fiction
Seth Gecko - From Dusk 'till Dawn
Nice Guy Eddie - Reservoir Dogs
and although he was barely in the flick......I love Christopher Walken's Vicenzo character in True Romance. He played that perfectly....especially in reaction to Dennis Hopper's whole "your great great great grandmother fucked a nigger......" speech.
The characters themselves are...........but Oliver Stone messed them up pretty good.
Tarantino's vision of the characters was for them not to be good or bad........they just did what they did for the reasons they did them. Oliver Stone took certain liberties with the script.......which resulted in Micky and Malorie being clear cut bad guys.
In the Reservoir Dogs 10th Anniversary commentary he talks about Oliver Stone making movies where the audience can only interpret the movie the way Oliver Stone wants them to..........whereas Tarantino makes movies where the audience gets to decide for themselves.
