Your opinions on the new "Rated R Card"

Has anyone heard of the new Rated R Card, that they are coming out with, i dont know if its just for specific places or everywhere but they are coming out with new rated r cards for people age 17 or under to see Rated R movies, I dont know but i dont think its a good idea, i think that if your parents allow you to see that stuff, they can check you in, but however on the good side, you wouldnt have to bring them in you'd just have to show your card.

Dudette, if your 17, you can go to R rated movies.

...and most theaters don't even really care, like when my friends and I went to go see Hannibal for my 15th birthday...heh...

Yeah, it's when you're buying them that they care. When I bought the Matrix: Reloaded they carded me. I was clean shaven 😉 When I bought 25th anniversary of Psycho, no card. I was scruffley. When I bought Underworld, they carded me and I was scruffley! I think it was a new girl just doing procedure. Most people say I look like at least a freshman in college.

ok

hehe....in romania no one gives a damn...😄

Doesn't make any difference to me.

I've been able to see Rated R for 3 years now.

What I think is the stupidest thing is to buy 1 R-rated ticket, you have to be 17, but to buy more than one, you have to be 21...WTF is the deal with that? My brother and I went to see Matrix Revolutions and they wouldn't let me buy tickets for both of us (I'm 17 and he's 15), so I had to have my mom come and buy my brother's ticket. But the most amusing part of it was the fact that that's the only time I've ever had trouble getting into an R-rated movie...and it was after I'd been 17 for 9 months 😑

Well i created this thread to see what you thought about it, maybe if you were like a parent or something, nothing else. And over here its quite frank that they dont care either, and in most places probably dont/ and wont.

Thats quite odd Trinity, but i guess its different all over the world

What exactly does 'R rated' mean? Whats it equivelent to...age wise?

It's like the 18 rating here in the UK. But in the US a child can watch an R-rated movie if accompanied with an adult IIRC.

That is the same way here in the United States...A person under 17 has to have an adult with them.

There are a lot of movies that have rated R ratings that should have been rated PG-13...oh well 🙄

Here in Britain the R-17 rule does not exist, however under 12's can see 12 classified films as long as they are accompanied by an adult (i.e. a person aged 18 years or over) this classification is known as 12a, recent 12a classifications have included Lord of The Rings : The Two Towers and Return of the King .
