I see all this talk about Freddy, Jason, Pinhead, and Myers. which is understandable, because those are top dogs in horror movies. But, what about the meanest and most disturbing guy that was in horror movies BEFORE any of those dudes? I'm talking about the movie Phantasm. Yeah, you remember him, or you OUGHT to. THE TALL MAN. He has what it takes to beat anybody on this list. He's a tall, old, spooky as hell guy that's a scientist/mortician that's been around since Civil War times. He has superhuman strength (picked up a casket by himself and loaded it into a hearse as if it didn't weigh a thing). has psychic powers, and appears in people's dreams like Freddy and screws with their minds in the real/awake world. even does wierd $hit like make a twisted and mutated looking avatar of himself appear somewhere else. He designed these flying robotic spheres with artificial intelligence that come equipped with blades that stick into your head and then a drill comes out and drills into your skull and shoots your blood everywhere. they also have buzzsaw blades that pop out of the sides and allow it to grind it's way through your body. some of them even have laser beams and area scanning devices...anything that moves gets blasted. he designed a dimensional gateway machine which allows the user access to different areas of space and time, and even a dimension that looks like some kind of Hell. this is also why he can't be killed off. another one always takes his place when they manage to kill him which is hard to do in the first place. it's like that parallel reality thing you always hear about. even if your dead in this reality, there's another reality in which you're alive and well...and that's why one of the other Tall Men step through the dimensional portal and pick up where the other one left off. he takes dead bodies, or kills people, and performs an experiment on them that transforms them into short, hideous, and mindless servants that follow his commands. he's also brainwashed some people without changing the way they look.
The Tall Man is a badass. seeing him and Freddy or Pinhead go at it would be interesting...they'd give him the best fight. Pinhead's anger might get in the way of his victory (Tall Man never flies off of the handle and goes on a rampage because he knows he has all of the time in the universe to get the job done), and Freddy's jokes and his tendency to get sidetracked would be the reason he loses if he does. Jason and Mike Myers are too slow witted to stand a chance against the Tall Man, who could certainly stand toe to toe against them in a physical struggle. Candyman is Freddy-lite...he kinda lacks. Chucky and the Leprechaun are a couple of jokes. Leatherface is just a normal man who's psycho. Ash sure as hell can't do this by himself. if Reggie's FOUR-barrel shotgun isn't getting the job done, Ash's plain old regular shotgun isn't going to do a damn thing. Aliens and Predators would fall to the power unleashed from a swarm of killer spheres.

LOL! have you even seen at least one Phantasm movie at ALL? Leatherface is a normal human being. a man with a chainsaw. The Tall Man is clearly superhuman in all areas and has done some of the same exact things that Freddy, Jason, and Mike Myers have done...BEFORE they were even around. being old, as you put it, does help. he's been there and done that several times compared to most other horror movie villans so he has an edge in experience and wisdom. the fact that he's done things across multiple realities spanning over the past 150+ years also helps out a lot.

Tall Man.Ive heard of him.I saw the movie.I saw the part when that ball drilled through the guys skull..I saw it on Sci-Fi...He is pretty kool..But Myers could still take him.Myers has been shot wit aks,hit by truck,hit wit axe,caught on fire,hit wit steel pipe,injected wit poison and many other ways 2 die...He is way smater than Jason..Freedy is 2 cocky and will just underestimate him,and the others are out of the league..Tall Man is kool but Myers is just kooler..Even if Tall Man icould beat him Micheal would just come bak next Halloween..I find it hard 4 tall man 2 beat a legend like Myers
i would have to say either jason freddy or pinhead. cause ash and leatherface are human so can die . chunky could get blown up and as long as noone puts him back together he is dead. alien and predator can also die. that only leaves candyman who i think can die. i have never seen any of the leprechauns. and micheal myers would mostly likely die if he was beheaded and it was really him not someone in his costume. and if no one opened pinhead's box then he would never be able to fight . and jason freddy and can never die in the human world but pinhead can't ever die in the hell world.
