The Force> What’s made YOU an expert on witchcraft???
It’s just nonsense – superstition like God, the Devil, Vishnu, Buddha etc. That’s it. There’s zero proof of any of it, only hear-say and wishful thinking and the need for a reason to exist.
“Witches” and “warlocks” was what non-Christians in the Middle-ages were called by Christians. These witches and warlocks could be anything from pretty people, to worshippers of other religions, political opponents, widows or “wise old men and women.”
As far as I know witchcraft, wicca, is a belief in the powers of nature. A little like the old American Indian belief. Nothing inherently evil about that as far as I can tell –
All kinds of “faiths”, whether it’s Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity, wicca, assorted pagan religions, Norse Gods, Greek Gods, Roman, astrology or whatever you like (Flying Saucers Belief?), basically says the same: Be god, have faith in yourself, no killing, stealing, lying and so on. They can all – and have all – been used for both god and “evil”.

Are you always this way? 😛
So far, I don't see many educated people on the topic of "Wicca". Witchcraft isn't someting that I've known of to be a valid practice but many MANY people get Wicca confused with Witchcraft.
Wicca is just the worship of the "god" of an element, creature, etc. It's nothing evil or Satanic, in fact, they don't even believe in a Satanic figure if I remember correctly.

All Religions have one thing in common (which someone did not acknowledge earlier) and that is "Mythology". What do all Mythologies have in common? is that they start as stories and legends of beings higher than humans. How do these stories generate? "We don't know for sure how did they originated". You can name any religion: Buddhism, Islam, Christianity, Judaism, and you will always find some myth or mythological creature in it.
Does Witchcraft have mythologies? Absolutely, but some are borrow from Christianity, Islam, and Judaism which are the three biggest religions in the world today. Whether the individual accepts this as "real" or "man made" is her/his choice. Skeptics can call Myths and Legends as only silly stories used to scare children but that is not always the case. Someone actually saw some strange unknown thing or creature and told it and thus the myth began.
Whatever is out there that generates a Myth or Legend could possibly exist. Native Americans have told many times about a White Buffalo (Sioux tribe) and you scientist out there know that there is a chance that an Albino Buffalo could exist. So you see sometimes a Myth can be telling the truth about something. I don't think is too wise to say something like "The Devil doesn't exist because there is no scientific proof" So skeptics sometimes need to be more open minded as well.

I know I'm new to this forum, but I am a Witch, a Wiccan if you will and have been for several years. Neither I nor my fellow witches believe in or recognize "Satan." And as far as being into white or black magick, true Witches that follow the Wiccan Rede DO NOT perform harmful (black) magick. I'm not saying there aren't some twisted individuals out there, but that is true of ANY RELIGION. ANY RELIGION can have people who twist its ideals into something its not supposed to be. I practice my magick to connect more with the earth and my gods and goddesses. I don't sacrifice animals or babies. I believe that if I do harm to anyone or anything I'll be harmed three-fold. Even if I don't agree with another religion, I'll never deny another person's right to believe in it or put it down. So to conclude (sorry if it seems I'm on a soap-box), most Witches aren't bad people. Just like most Jews, Muslims, Christians, Buddists, Taoists, followeres of Shamanism and Voodoo, etc... aren't bad people. Using what the media shows us to stereotype other people's beliefs is sad and all too common. I only hope that this message will help to dispel some of the negative myths about witches.
Thank you for your time. 🙂
I too am a Witch, and it's really great to know there are other people who practice and respect Magick as much as I do.

The only witches and warlocks I can think of are the people in charge of MTV. Not only do they constantly play bad music, they try to brainwash people into thinking that it's actually good, despite being generic and repetitive.
Not all of its bad, although the main MTV owned music channels are pretty bad. MTV2s pretty good.
Nah, it's all bad, they play like one decent song a day. The rest is lousy pop or rap.
Anywho, witchcraft is a pile of crap. In highschool I remember these gothic girls who claimed to be witches and what not. It went with their gothic gimmick so they tried to milk it for all it was worth. Attention whores.
