(the above one could go alot of ways due to double-teaming)

sorry I thought I would start my own one up, [/B]

Boromir. He spent years on the Front Lines against Mordor
Smeagol. Lived hundreds a years and knows a trick or two.
Fell Beast. Eagles got the jump on them. Fell Beasts are bigger and stronger.
Sauron. He kept the Witch-King alive. Gandalf the White couldn't defeat the Witch-King who is weaker then Sauron. Morgoth may have trained Sauron but where was he in the LOTR?

Morgoth was cast in the void and cannot come out of it. It took all the armies of men, elves, dwarves and all the rest of the gods to defeat him. Morgoth would cruch sauron, my friend. In fact, Sauron was only a general in Morgoth's army. Read the Sillmarillon.

But if Morgoth had a part of the powers of all the Valars, how was it that Tulkas was able to submit him at all?

Tulkas had more brute strenght than Morgoth, but wasn't as intelligent.

Where did you read that the Gods had any doing in the battle?

The Silmarillion, Book II, Chapter 24, Paragraph 12, #5:
And his prayer was granted.

Paragraph 20, #3:
But the host of the Valar prepared for battle;

Tolkien later in that chapter describes how even the Valar have to retreat when the Dragons are unleashed (although Earendil and the eagles defeat them)... which imo implies that they were actually fighting themselves laughing

The first war between Morgoth and the other Valar - with a lot more actual interaction between the Valar, esp. Tulkas, and Melkor - is described in the Silmarillion, Quenta Silmarillion, III: "Of the Coming of the Elves and the Captivity of Melkor" 😛

Let's not forget the seven sons of Feanor *cough*

Really, Galadriel wouldn't even need a sword to fight aragorn. Even if aragorn was armed, she would win.

^^ now thats just a silly statement Maeg.

the "elf witch" can't fend off everything that comes to her, I do think galadriel would win somehow but I am sure Aragorn would stick it to her before she could wield some spell.

haha I just read some more posts since the previosu time I was here - just got to love reading the "Eagles Vs Fell Beasts/Nazguls"

Eagles so ruled the middle earth, they just decided to tak a long nap, a very long long nap.

Discos - oh yes, I am still an Eagle fan to the max.

well lets not kid or self's here. Leogolas who is the prince of mirkwood the undefeatable army has agility and speed and like batan swirling dextority sword skills(elven) that aragorn will never have main character tuff guy king or not he losses this one.

leogolas is quick with the sword and skilled
aragorn will never give up and comes at you strong and brave sword to sword aragorn might have leogolas by a bit.But if you remember in the movie leogolas killed nearly 1hundred men up close with a bow and arrow and can hit a goblin almost a half mile away right in the eye.So if aragorn had a shield and was near a a hundred feet leogolas can hit him somewhere else, not to mention leogolas might take aragorn in the first 15 seconds if he does the right moves but after 15 or 20 aragorn might have leogolas but ultimitly leogolas win this fight.Who else can jump on a eliphant and a take a whole squad of easterling then slide down the tusk !?!

hey i know they'res millions of these on kmc but i got board and i havn't posted anything for a while so who would win:

Morgoth vs Sauron

Aragorn vs Legolas

witch king vs balrog

isildur vs Aragorn

eowen vs gimli

johnmatrix vs sauron

Morgoth vs Sauron morgoth. It's like putting Yoda against Obiwan

Aragorn vs Legolas Aragorn, Legolas needs a hundred meters to hurt Aragorn and he won't have it.

Witch king vs balrog well the balrog can't kill the witch king because of the ring so he dies.

Isildur vs Aragorn Aragorn, Isildur is the week point in the family.

Eowen vs Gimly. Gimly, Eowyn hasn't done shit. no she didn't kill the witchking of angmar either sense his life is bound to the ring.

I agree on most of that list, but not totally on the Aragorn vs Isildur one....
Isildur wasn't the weak point of his familly because he couldn't fight, it was because he had a weak will and he spared the ring when he could have destroyed it. Do we know what he is capable of? Well out of pure assumption I would say Aragorn...

yeah, we really don't know anything about how good isildur is with the blade. but he didn't look too good in the movies. the very small part of the film where you can see him. And he doesn't seem too strong in silmarillion either.
