playing a PLA region 2 formatted video

Hi,

I have found a movie that I was looking for a long time, but it is available only in PLA region 2 format. I was wondering what exatly that means, and if I am going to run into trouble playing that on my regular American VCR, and if so, if there is a way to convert the format to the regular VCR format.

Hmm PLA are you sure you do not mean PAL, the term 'PAL' (Phase Alternating Line) refers to the television standard that is used by most Western European countries (with the prime exception of France which uses 'SECAM'😉, the American equivilent of 'PAL' is 'NTSC'.Are you attempting to run this movie via video (NTSC) or DVD BTW ?

Yes, I meant the PAL format, and the film, I believe is for video, not DVD.

You won't be able to play it on a regular US vcr.

You'll need to get a PAL vcr or get the movie reformatted.
