Mmmhmmm The three Silmarils, he was also known for creating the eight palantiri.
Weren't those seven palantíri? 😄
'Nyways, there are times when I hate Fëanor, because of being an extreme hater, 😛 but there are also some times when I admire him and I'm his fan. I mean, c'mon, the guy is cool. Talented and productive, having 7 sons and all. Nice to be Nerdanel. 😄
Yeah. 🙁 That's my problem with him too. What exactly is his problem from the fact that Finwe remarried? Is it just because he wants all the love and attention to him? Or is he threatened and afraid for the throne? Or is it because he thinks that Finwe never loved Miriel? (though he really did), or is Feanor (I hate to say this but) really just plain selfish? I mean, he never really loved Fingolfin and Finarfin and their children, and I think he also brought up his sons like that. What's his real "issue" you think?
yes the eight...seven of which came to middle earth and one of which is the all powerful stone...which stays with manwe 😄 at all times 😄
feanor.....dont talk to ME about feanor...that man makes some jewels...they get stolen so he goes and swears an oath which pretty much screws everyone
he makes some people get banished....so they cant gi back to valinor...THEN burns the ships and stuff so they cant get to M:E WHERE THE HELL DID THEY GO!!!
and the balrogs killing him were great 😄
stupid feanor
I think there were more than eight Palantíri - just SOME of them were given as a gift to the Númenóreans while the others remained in the hands of the Elves. I dont think they would have given all of them (except for one) to the Edain.
And, yeah, Feanor rocks. He's an absolutely cool character, and as I think one of Tolkien's best inventions. I also love the idea of how genius he was and yet with his perfect Silmarilli brought woe over all Middle-earth. And - no doubt that he has an absolutely cool character which Tolkien describes in an absolutely cool way 😄
I think the best description of Feanor is his famous quote:
"For the less even as for the greater there is some deed that he may accomplish but once only; and in that deed his heart shall rest. It may be that I can unlock my jewels, but never again shall I make their like. And if I shall break them, I shall break my heart, and I shall be slain, first of all Eldar of Aman... (...) This thing I will not do of free will. But if the Valar will constrain me, then I shall know indeed that Melkor is of their kindred...."
(potential mistakes caused by my horribly bad mind included 😄 )
