To be honest, I think the GDF itself would be the perfect grounds for the philospical discussion. I don't see the need to seperate it.

I think it's perfectly fine for the GDF to hold philosopical and current affairs thread.

I think people might want a philosophy forum so that they can discuss politics or other somewhat controversial issues. If I'm wrong, bash away.

We can call it something else. Maybe "social science" or "The thinkers corner" instead of philosophy forum. 😉
